Story

"You want to know my story? Well sit tight, because my story begins eons ago, before my father, before his father, and before his father before him. Let me tell you of one of the Elvens' oldest tales, of the Legend of the Eternal Five..

In an age where nature ruled the land of Genesis, where the gods were young and fierce and the beasts ran wild, there lived a superior species called the Camira Dragons. The Camiras were angry and brutal creatures, their love for blood surpassing any other beast. They ruled both the skies and the earth; everything cowered in their presence. Even the trees and plants withered into the shade when the steady beat of wings were heard.

Camiras lived in paradise. That is, until the humanoids arrived. They came from a foreign land and called themselves Elvens; they were aliens in a new world. The humanoids were tiny things - soft skinned, two legged, and pointy eared. They brought with them monsters of darkness to the land of Genesis; Loufra, the Elvens called them. These monsters were born from hell itself. They travelled through the shadows and devoured souls from the poor victims while mercilessly ripping their bodies apart. With them, the humanoids walked the land with arrogance and claimed it as their own. With their monsters, they conquered the beasts and tamed the gods with throaty roars and savage slaughter. It angered the Camiras. This was their land, and it belonged to no one else but them.

The war began. It was not remember in history who attacked first, but rather that both sides fought until the land itself shook with fright. The Camiras fought with tooth and claw, the Lufra with their evil and the Elven with their metal weapons. The blood of Dragon, Lufra and Elven soaked the plants, soaked the trees, soaked the very land itself. The sky turned black and the sun burned red; it seemed the war would never end until one or all of them were destroyed.

One after another, the Elven ordered their dark slaves to war against the Camiras. One after another, the Camiras slaughtered the Lufra, but not without casualties of their own. The Lufra were never meant to be tamed, and there are always consequences to things that were never meant to be. Their black hearts turned against their masters, and they began to tear through the ranks of Elvens. It wasn't until that moment did the Elvens realize their mistake. It was a mistake that almost cost them their entire existence.

The Lufra were determined to exterminate their masters and as the number of Elven continued to decrease, they crawled into hiding in an attempt to flee their dark enemies. They turned to their last resort: to plead with the Camira Dragons. They claimed that without their help, both Elven and Camira would surely perish by the hand of the Lufra. With no surprise, the Camiras refused to offer assistance. Why should they sacrifice their own to help the ones who brought about death to their land of paradise? The Camiras banished the Elvens and doomed them to parish.

In this time, there was a young Elven boy, whose name has been lost in the ages, who had always been a little different from the rest of his generation. Instead of playing hide and seek with his playmates, he sought to sit in his father's workshop, for his father built weapons for the Elven Army. Instead of dancing around the fire in joy of a victory, he sought to lay in the forest among the long grass and study the universe above. As he matured and became a young man, he believed that there could once again be peace in the paradise of Genesis. He was brave beyond reason, and sought to exterminate the evil Lufra his ancestors used to call slaves. He gathered four of his most trusted and loyal friends, and they called themselves The Five.

The battles and victories of The Five will never truly be known, but on their quest they came across a very young dying Camira. Instead of putting the dragon out of his misery, much to his friends dismay, the young Elven boy decided to nurse him back to full health. They shared a bond no other two different species had shared before. When a band of Lufra attacked their camp, Elven and Camira fought together. In the heat of the battle, there was a burst of energy; the universe shook - and they became one with each other. With their bond came powers of magic, strength and life unbeknownst to any living creature or beast. The young Elven boy and his Camira along with the rest of the Five took their new knowledge to their ancient leaders and pleaded for a treaty between them. For with their new powers, wouldn't the extermination of the Lufra be an easy task? The Elven and Camira leaders eventually agreed to hold a council, if only to test whether any other bonds could be created.

The Camira Leaders had chosen four of their swiftest Dragons; the remaining four of The Five were the obvious choice, for they had previously proven themselves worthy. Many of both species gathered to witness the phenomenon of this event; it would determine both species survival or destruction. And the greatest moment in history of both Elven and Camira happened; it was called The Great Change, when the chosen four Elvens bonded with their Camiras and they became known as the Eternal Five.

Each pair wielded a different type of power; the young Elven boy manipulated Light magic. The remaining controlled Dark, Fire, Ice and Earth magic. They had ten times the strength of normal Elvens, and discovered they lived longer too. The Eternal Five travelled the land and eradicated many Lufra. The Lufra fleed from the The Eternal Five and the Elvens and Camiras were once again free. They flourished and prospered as one. But the Elven Elders were greedy; they wanted their own dragons to command and enslave just like they had enslaved the Lufra. The Eternal Five knew that it was because of this their species would never survive. With their gathered knowledge of many years, they assembled to change the future forever.

It will never be known how The Eternal Five accomplished the feat. With their magic, the rewrote the fabric of the universe itself. Dragons and Elvens of the Eternal Five came together with their minds and bodies, and realigned the stars with what is known as the Ancient Spell. It spoke that only those worthy of becoming Dragon Tamers would be able to bond with a Camira, and not just with any Camira. The Camira had to choose to become bonded to an Elven, and to choose his or her Tamer. The future Tamers would rule above all Elven Elders, and be the saviors of the Elvens if ever Lufra were to rise from the shadows again. And with the last utter of the Ancient Spell, the Eternal Five perished and were never seen again.
