Misery was born into a wealthy family, she was one of three children and her parents had an expectation for each child.
Her eldest brother, Chaos, was expected to follow her mother's footsteps of being a Pokemon professor, which he lived up to and now mentors all the trainers who come from Radiata.
Her eldest sister, Pain, was expected to become the Radiata gym leader, mainly to take over from their father, which she lived up to without hesitation.
For Misery, her parents expected her to be a Pokemon master. Since birth, Misery had been taught the ways of battles, Pokemon and how to become more than the best. Misery felt that the harshness of this life was not for her.
For as long as Misery recalls, she only felt sadness when she was forced to battle and train her Pokemon, when all she wished to do was be their friends and take care of them and every Pokemon she could meet. She wanted to become a Pokemon breeder and run a daycare centre.
So, behind her parents back, she studied as much as she could about it and saved up to buy the run down centre on the outskirts of Radiata. She had been doing this since she was thirteen.
Eventually, her parent's enrolled her into a trainer school until graduation; which occurs when they are 18 and are sent on a journey to beat all those who wish to reach the top.
Schooling Years
She was the top of her class in both theory and practical. Her parents were proud of their soon-to-be Pokemon master; Misery loved the fact that she made her parents proud but felt a deep regret as she secretly set her plans to motion.
Several days before the graduation, the old owners of the daycare came to the school to scout a replacement for them, since they had no children of their own who still lived on Lycoris. They felt they had a student in mind until they saw Misery tend to her injured Absol and felt that they had a kindred spirit in her; one that shared their dreams and desire of what the daycare could have been, what it should have been.
They approached the soon-to-be graduate, Misery, and asked if she ever felt that she would own and run the daycare. Misery hesitated but admitted, in a hushed tone, that it was her dream but felt she would destroy her parents wishes that they had for her.
Graduation rolled around as she graduated at the top of her class and was given first choice in a new Pokemon, which turned out to be a Fennekin.
She was happy and so was her family. Afterwards, her family held a party for her.
That night, her mother approached her and asked, 'What do you want to do now?'. Misery lied and said, "To be a Pokemon master," but her mother scoffed. Misery looked at her expectantly and only felt confusion at her mother's action.
"You shouldn't live our dreams, live your own."
Misery continued to look at her mother and then sighed. She ended up admitting that she wanted to raise and care for all Pokemon. Her mother smiled and handed her a key and some paperwork. Misery looked down and realised that they were the deeds to the old couple's daycare.
'They said you have the soul of a carer, not a fighter,' her mother said, as she looked at Misery with a smile. 'This is what you should do, even if your father doesn't agree, become a master of something you love,' her mother added, before leaving her daughter to pack, to leave for the daycare in the next week.
Currently
It's been three years since she left home.
Misery reflects on this thought as she sweeps the floor, she looks around the room. On the far wall, it has rows and rows of incubators for the eggs that she finds or the ones people reject. It is at half capacity this week; some are due today. Her organised desk sits along the other wall between the incubators and the entrance to this section of the daycare. The other wall has a huge sliding door that leads out to a covered area where she feeds the Pokemon in her care, while the last wall has shelves of books ranging from types of Pokemon to just about anything one would need to care for Pokemon.
Her living quarters is on the second floor and can be accessed from the left of the main entrance of the daycare. It's there, that during her spare time, she makes cute things (such as dolls), reads and plays games, and relaxes with her Pokemon. Misery smiles at herself at how lucky she is to have this place to herself and her small team of Pokemon.
Albel, her Absol is currently dozing in the egg chair she has in the entrance foyer. Albert, her Metagross, is carrying around a few young Pokemon as a way to entertain them along with Giratina and Nora, her Pumpkaboo. Ami, her Vaporeon is being its usual self: closely following Misery around the shop.
Misery feels that life could not be any better than this.
The bell jingles as someone enters the daycare. Misery dumps the broom to the side and enters the foyer with a warm smile on her face and Ami at her heel.
"Welcome to Radiata daycare, how can I help you today?"
