If only they knew better, knew that it was pointless, that death will always catch up to them. My name is Amaya Kuran, but you can call me Mye for short. From birth, I was an immortal being, incapable of death or disease. Many souls have been lost in the pursuit of this notion of eternal life, however, immortality isn't all it's cracked up to be. For instance, I can in fact die, I just come back to life after a day or so, just like my other, more dominant side, Sierra, or my more submissive side, Arreis. Another thing is that I have to go through life watching almost all of the people I love pass on. It's a horrible thing to go through, losing someone dear to you. One day they're there, smiling and laughing with you, having your back no matter what. And then- disaster strikes. The person that always listens to your problems,offers you a shoulder to cry on,stays with you at night when you're too afraid to sleep alone after that scary movie, and tells the truth when you ask them something personal instead of lying to make you feel better, is gone. To me, Sierra, and Arreis, there is no way to make death sound pleasant. The person that died is no more. Their heart does not beat, blood no longer runs through their veins, brain activity is zero, and their soul departs from their body, leaving them 21 or so grams lighter. I would do anything to protect my younger sisters - as i call them, even though technically are all the same age- , even give my life. Touch them- even look at them the wrong way, and you just might find yourself with a shadow following you home.That shadow just might be the death of you.
