"The night is young, time to start hunting."
Malissa was a young little girl born into a family famous for their work and advances in science. She too was expected to follow the path of her parents and siblings in joining their cause. Malissa however developed a very strong love for witchcraft. She studied in it inside and out. When her parents found out, they immediately crashed down on her love, telling her that witchcraft couldn't exist because there was no science behind it at all. After the event, she ran away. She met a witch in the swamps on the outskirts of town. She learned from her and eventually she learn how to eat people's souls. Her first was her teacher which made her incredibly powerful. Ever since, she's being taking people's souls just for the hell of it.
Don't mind the horrible thing that is the WIP:
"Malissa come back here!" her mother yelled as she trailed behind her joyful daughter. "Come back here kitty! I just want to be your friend!" She ran after the cat as fast as she could trailing it until the reached the forest and it disappeared into the trees.
Finally her mother caught her, completely out of breath. "Malissa don't just chase after stray animals! They could hurt you. You don't know where they have been or who they could belong to!" Her mother used a hard tone leaving her daughter a bit shaken and sad. "I just wanted to be his friend..." Malissa put her hands together and looked down at the ground saddened. "Come on Malissa, lets head home. Its been a long day and maybe we'll get a cat for you instead." Her mother put her hand out. Malissa looked up happier and took her hand as they walked back home.
