He presses the button on the control panel. A loud rumble comes from the back of the ship. Smiling to himself, he reaches towards his headset.

"Attention all stations, Hyperspace penetration now commencing. Secure all ship operations, Control, control do you read me?"

"Ahem... excuse me Sir? "

He turns around annoyed, pressing the button on the side of his helmet to lift the front glass, frowning slightly.

"Yes...?"

Didn't they realize he was trying to commence takeoff?

A short, twitchy man stands in front of him. He fiddles with the pen in his pocket before replying.

"Um... I'm sorry Sir, but the costumes are not supposed to be removed from the display.'

Conner Darne looks like a normal college student from first glance. He comes to and from his classes in a usual demeanor, trusty book bag slung over shoulder, half eaten bagel in hand. It's what happens when class is over, when his fellow students head back to their dorms and him to his dirty, crumbling, paper-filled apartment that he becomes a whole new person.

"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.." is what he mutters to himself day after day as he straps himself into his makeshift training system, silently cursing his upside-down stomach valve for his troubles.As the world spins out of control, he closes his eyes, and tries his hardest to keep his lunch down. The carpet shows signs of the contrary.
