A lovable goofball of a canine who accompanies Joe, a gentle homeless man, on his plights. Joe gave Howler his name for the haunting howls he heard at night, before he realized what was making them.

Howler is assumed to have escaped from an abusive owner: when Joe first found the dog, he was covered in bruises and blood, and had a tiny, suffocating collar around his neck.

Joe nursed the dog back to health, and ever since then, Howler was never far from his master.
