Once bound by chains, I am now Free
The only known information of Eloxi is he was once a Stud for breeding. Because of his rare coloring, he was wanted by many and used to gain his genes. After many failed attempts to gain any like him, his Master sold him to a fellow Slave Owner. This Slave Owner was known for his brutality and cruelty. He forced Eloxi to become a killer for his Master's pleasure. He would fight day in and day out, leaving destruction and bloodshed in his wake. One day his Master had fallen into a deep sleep caused from a sickness and Eloxi found his opportunity to escape. he snuck out and spread his wings as much as he could and nipped at the chains that bound him. Bit by bit he finally got the chains and cuffs off and flew into a nearby forest.
He soon became a legend in that forest known as the " Ominous One." Years went by and he was not disturbed. His days of freedom were finally here.
Information of the Species
The Griffin (Greek gryphos, Persian شیردال shirdal "lion-eagle") (also very often spelled gryphon and, less commonly, gryphen, griffon, griffen, or gryphin) is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. Asthe lion was considered the "King of the Beasts" and the eagle the "King of the Air", the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature.
The griffin is generally represented with four legs, wings and a beak, with eagle-like talons in place of a lion's forelegs and feathered, equine-like ears jutting from its skull. Some traditions say that only female griffins Sketch of a resting Griffin have wings. Some writers describe the tail as a serpent. See the entry Saint George and the Dragon for a 19th century painting of St George and the dragon, showing a dragon that looks a lot like a classically-conceived griffin.
Classical and heraldic griffins are male and female. A "male" griffin, called a keythong in a single 15th century English heraldic manuscript, is an anomaly that belongs strictly to a late phase of English heraldry. Less commonly known to many, the griffin is a parent to the hippogriph - a combination of a horse and a griffin - even though griffens and hippogriphs are the worst of enemies.
Other Similar Species of Griffon include:
Cynogriffon.Half eagle and half dog/wolf, the cynogriffon isn't often heard of. Its other name is chamrosh, bringing to mind a four-leaf clover.
Cynogriffons are smaller than other griffons, perhaps even the smallest. Despite their small size they are extremely strong and can often out lift even griffins.
Cynogriffons are also known as Sky-Hounds and are said to be a lesser diety's gift to dragon slayers because of their ability to heal quickly and track anything. The also have enough strength in their jaws to crush through almost anything. Extremely intelligent these creatures are extremely quick and terribly ferocious. It is also said that like some griffons and dragons they can communicate with human via telepathy.
These creatures are excellent at adapting to any enviorment but prefer high mountains and outcroppings because they can see any predators (which are few) coming to them. These creatures have also been known to help stranded people in the mountains but always remain just out of reach. The most stories about them occur in Native American and Celtics lore though usually just in passing.Pic: Safebooru.org
