Sapphire Jewel was once a happy, normal Legeica. However, that all changed when she got lost in the woods while playing with her pet cat, Fluffy, and stumbled upon Darkest Nightmare's lab. Curious, she walked in and started fiddling with the equipment. The lab was quite boring, it contained almost nothing but Nightmare Potions. Sapphire was about to leave, when, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a shiny, faintly glowing bottle sitting on a dusty shelf. Unable to resist the shininess, she walked over towards the shelf and gave the bottle a curious poke.
Darkest Nightmare walked back into her lab and find the young Legeica on the floor, unconscious. Nightmare was horrified to find that Sapphire's flesh was rotting rapidly, revealing the bone underneath. Nightmare knew immediately what had happened. The Legeica had walked into her lab, messed around a bit, and then opened the bottle with the dead, contaminated bug inside. Darkest Nightmare had been experimenting with the bug, trying to see the effects of the unknown disease, but she had lacked a test subject. All she knew was that the disease was deadly. Nightmare went to work, trying to find a way to cure Sapphire.
Unfortunately, Nightmare's efforts to help Sapphire only made the disease worse. Sapphire Jewel was turned into a mindless zombie, who was kept locked inside Nightmare's laboratory. Eventually she escaped, and can now be found wandering in the woods, killing everything on touch.
