I watched from my perch as two shapes trudged through the undergrowth beneath me. Newcomers, I thought to myself vaguely. Maybe they need help. I shifted on my branch, and the two shapes stopped. They sniffed the air and exchanged a look between themselves. I held my breath subconsciously. Did they hear me, I wonder? And suddenly, they jumped in different directions, faster than the wind.

"What happened? Where did they go?" I wondered aloud to myself, just as a claw came to rest on my throat.

One of the newcomers. "Don't move," She whispered roughly in my ear, her voice sounding as if it hadn't been used in days. The other newcomer fell onto the branch silently, her blue eyes glaring at me in distrust. She shook her mottled brown pelt, as if she wasn't used to the humidity in the air.

"Now, what were you doing, spying on us?" Whispered the black she-cat behind her, the claw digging deeper into her throat. I shook with fear. "Tell us!" Snarled the other one next to me. The one behind me gave a warning growl to the other, and the other blinked. "Sorry, Wish," she murmured.

And then I heard a low whine, that grew progressively louder and louder. The brown she-cat was staring at me in horror and the claw around my throat stiffened. I wondered what the whine was and where it was coming from. Then I realized...

It was crying.

I was crying.

Immediately the black she-cat named Wish sheathed her claw and ran in front of me. "It's alright, it's alright!" She whispered hurriedly to me, wiping my tears with her fluffy tail. "I'm sorry. You are obviously not a spy. We were just being cautious. Can you tell me where we are?"

"Nippon," I blubbered.

"Where?" Wish asked. She turned her head to the other. "Mosspool, do you know where Nippon is?"

Mosspool shook her head no. She looked me over. "What are you wearing? It's curious. Looks... Twoleg-y."

"Kimono," My voice wavered.

Mosspool gave me a look of, What? As Wish said, "What is your name?"

"Tsuki."

"Then lead the way for us, Tsuki."

Description:

A black vixen-like creature with yellow rings around her long round ears and tail. A yellow ring resides on her forehead a little above the center of her red eyes. Other small rings are found on her legs or thighs.

General Information

Tsuki believes in the phrase, It's better to give than to receive. She gives, gives, gives. It doesn't matter if it's the last thing she's got; if someone less fortunate comes in her path, she will give those last things to them. This is a result of her all Zodiac Pig nature. She loves Japanese food. Sushi, dumplings, anything Japanese will do. She also loves tea. She wears a very small kimono that she sewed herself, and mysteriously has new ones for every occasion - Moon Festivals, New Year Festivals, etc. After she finds Wish and Moss, she joins them on their adventures. She can speak Japanese fluently, but is a little choppy with her English.

Backround

Tsuki was born in a dense forest in Tokyo, Japan. After the Twolegs came in and started polluting her home, though, Tsuki has been on her own. She wanders the forests, looking for lost travelers, promising to help them with whatever they need help with. It hurts her, though, because when they don't need help anymore, they leave, leaving Tsuki deadly alone. She can't stand being alone, and loves company.
