As newborn dragon Drazconius's family was slaughtered by a murderous band of marauders who were hunting for dragon skin and whatever else they found salvageable to sell on the blackmarket. He tried to escape from the band but he wasnt even able to fly yet and the marauders captured him with there nets and stabbed at him mercilessly with there pikes. shrieking in pain he struggled with all his might to escape the clutches of these men. In the end his body gave in and collapsed he blacked out and when he awoke he found him self chained in dark and damp room. He tried to free himself but to no avail his bonds where just to strong for him to break. He sat in that cell for what seemed like an eternity, thinking about his lost family and the evil men who had destroyed all he had. After awhile he heard footseps coming toward the door of his cell and the lock turned as soon as the door was opened he lunged toward it being snatched back do to the shortness of his chain he heard a thud land beside him and the door shut. quickly he jumped up and raised his tail ready to defend himself. But what he saw on the ground was a battered and beaten young human male. The human cowered in fear whimpering,"Please just get it over with quickly dragon..." Drazconius looked at him pitying this poor human." Stop your whimpering sir i dont eat humans there meat is rancid and tough." The man stared up at him in shock that this animal was capable of speech. "Why have you been thrown in this dungeon with me? to be my meal?" the gentleman not so fearful anymore replied. "Yes it is the punishment of all who steal from the leader of this land he plans to make an example of me to my fellow thieves." contemplating all that the human said the dragon asked," I have a proposal if you can figure out a way to free me from this chains i will do my best to help you escape from here." nodding his head the thief moved quick as the breeze and picked the lock on drazconius's chains. Finally freed of his bonds the dragon let out a roar that shook the walls of the cell. Grabbing the theif by the waist drazconius tossed him on his back and proceeded to ram the cell door it took a few trys but the door finally gave in to sheer force. The guards had been alerted by the noise and came bounding down the hall way only to be greeted by the fierce site of this dragon he was small but only for a dragon he barreled through the gaurds slashing with the end of his tale as he ran. He wasnt sure which way to go but he knew he must escape. looking ahead he saw an opening with light shining through it he started pumping his legs as fast as they could go. He was almost to the opening when he realized to late that it was and opening in the face of a high stone tower tumbling out of the opening the thief screamed in fright. Drazconius extended his newborn wings and tried to flap them unable to control his flight the pair glided down toward the ground. Finally landing roughly in a group of trees. Collecting himself he heard yells coming from the mountain top.Pushing himself to continue on further he ran harder and faster away from the castle with the half dazed thief holding on to his back for dear life. By night fall they had crossed a vast distance and they both felt it was a safe distance away. they decided to rest. The pair spoke of what they were going to do. The thief told him of a place not far from the area where marauders were not welcome and they could find sanctuary a place he had been in childhood called Subeta. Drazconius agreed to accompany him to this place and after many days of traveling they arrived they had both become attached to each other and decided to reside in this beautiful land doing odd jobs for the inhabitants and battling in the battledome it was a grand time for the pair.But not longer after they had been their they learned they were being hunted by the same people had imprisoned them. Quickly they mad plans of there escape Drazconius quickly went to a well known witch who made him a potion to change his appearance to that of the hydrus dragon. Where as Crios changed into one of his many costumes. Rejoining each other later that day they flew to a nearby cave to hide until they could come up with a plan to end there persuit once and for all......
