Beware idolizes HallowStar, and in fact thrives on his swinging personality, egging him on no matter what mood presents itself. He is slightly off-hinge himself, and could best be described as HallowStar's "shoulder devil".

HallowStar was created in darkness: his human creator, a scientist trying to ascertain the nature of the afterlife and other metaphysics, obtained a tortured soul, and stitched it into the arm of an inanimate Dilemma. HallowStar was meant to help the scientist with his research, but was from the start a belligerent trouble-maker and time and time again proved more than a hindrance than a boon.
The soul trapped in his arm affects his moods wildly, and in a manic high he decided to dip parts of himself in india ink. In doing so, he ruined years of research notes. When he discovered the mess, the scientist decided at long last he would never get any use out of his creation, and tried to remove the soul from HallowStar's arm. Still in a manic high, HallowStar lept upon his creator and killed him.
Since that day, HallowStar has been part of the "dark" side of Centropolis, as a member of a gang of ruffians and punks who rob, steal, and cheat their way through life. When he is depressed, HallowStar is cold and calculating, able to size up a situation and discover the most advantageous way to, say, stage a robbery. He has been jailed overnight several times, but never in a long-term facility, since he tends to stick to "petty crimes", or at least only get caught when committing a smaller offense.
When he is manic, HallowStar is liable to do anything to anyone just for the thrill it gives him. Terrorizing the small and weak is a favorite passtime of his, and even some of his so-called friends prefer to avoid him when he is in the upswing of a high, since he has been known to turn on them as well.

"What have you done?!"

The form looks up with his mis-matched eyes, crazier than usual, a dangerous sheen behind them. His stuffed cheeks spread in a horrible grin.

"Whaddya mean? Ain't it obvious?" He raises his black-stained paws, spreading them at the human. He is sitting in a liquid pool of india ink, and more yet drips down his back, staining the once pure white fabric. It also covers most of the paper strewn about the floor.

The human raises his own arm and backhands his creation hard enough to send the powerful plush body sprawling backward, still laughing a high pitched laugh. His master, his maker, looks down at him with a snarl marring his features.

"How DARE you. My notes. My research." His fists are clenched. HallowStar rolls up into a seated position and then onto his haunches, cocking his head to the side, as far as it can go considering the limited mobility of his stitching. He still grins, despite the indentation on his cheek.

"I have put up with so much from you, but this... this is the last straw." The human approaches HallowStar, rolling up his sleeves, murmuring something under his breath.

HallowStar feels his arm begin to vibrate. Both of his eyes narrow. "I dun think so, Master." With a surprising swiftness, he leaps forward, pinning the much smaller human down, pressing with all of his considerable weight on the man's throat. His eyes are clear now, as open as they can be. His master's mouth gapes open, trying to finish the incantation. HallowStar feels the windpipe below his soul-hand crush. It takes remarkably little effort. He snorts in surprise.

The human's form goes limp, and the soul in his arm rests again. For now. HallowStar leaves and does not look back.
