Thea groaned, stretched and forced her eyes to focus on the sound. The alarm clock, beeping at her. She squinted at the display - 7am, Thursday 12th Sept. Thea groaned again and reluctantly got out of bed. Stubbed her toe on the bedpost, and swore loudly. Quick shower, get dressed for work. Stumble to the kitchen, grab cereal, a bowl, open the fridge. No milk. No time to get any, but she made a mental note to buy some on her way to work and store it in their fridge until the end of the day.

She left the flat and crossed the street as always, then headed around the corner to the office where she worked. One more road to cross to get to the shop to buy some milk before reaching the office. Thea hoped for an easy day, she was tired and needed the weekend to arrive already. Stepping out into the road, a screech of brakes, a horn blaring. Impact. Thea was tossed into the air and landed on the pavement with a thud. Passers by rushed to see what had happened. A lady knelt down beside Thea, holding her hand, telling her to hold on, help was on the way. But it was too late. She was gone. A man in a fedora hat was watching on the street corner, helpless. He sighed, shook his head, and walked away.

This pattern of events repeated itself over and over, every day - 47 times in a row, so far. The man in a fedora hat on the street corner tried to warn her, tried to change the events before they happened, but nothing changed. Thea would still be hit by the oncoming car. Thea would still lose her life on that pavement. Every single time. It was hellish to witness, over and over. He had to come up with a better plan. It wasn't meant to be like this, it just wasn't....

She left the flat and crossed the street as always, then headed around the corner to the office where she worked. One more road to cross to get to the shop to buy some milk before reaching the office. Thea hoped for an easy day, she was tired and needed the weekend to arrive already. Stepping out into the road, Thea was suddenly grabbed from behind and pulled to safety. It all happened so fast - a man in a fedora hat was lying in the road, a victim of a traffic accident. Thea knelt down beside him and held his hand, telling him to hold on, help was on the way. But it was too late. He was gone.

Thea groaned, stretched and forced her eyes to focus on the sound. The alarm clock, beeping at her. She squinted at the display - 7am, Friday 13th Sept. Thea groaned again and reluctantly got out of bed. Stubbed her toe on the bedpost, and swore loudly. Quick shower, get dressed for work. Stumble to the kitchen, grab cereal, a bowl, open the fridge. Thea ate her cereal, grabbed her bag and left the flat. Almost the weekend, she thought to herself. And that thought made her smile as she headed to the office, oblivious to the horror that had gone before...
