Mad Story

With the world as his puppet Hatter's eyes could only see possibility. Expansion. Creation. Destruction. Control. Release. He would control everything, all the while allowing those around to believe they had made the decisions. It was his playground: one that he could destroy at any moment.

His eyes gleamed as he watched the others watching him in anticipation for wisdom. His wisdom; wisdom that would consume them for a time until they came asking for more.

"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" he had once asked. And still, years later, the question was pondered, was it not? And the answer? They create it in their quest for the answer.

Laughing with gusto he remembered the fleeting moment that content would forever be remembered. He was mad, indeed, but only with power, and he could not imagine anything better.
