Sweet as the sound of my newformed wings
I stretch them open, I let them dry
I haven't seen this world before
But I'm excused, I'm a butterfly
|| Timid || Enjoys History || Fragile || Never Flies far || Beginner Artist ||
In a world where joy is almost unheard of and where every day is a struggle to survive, Euphie does her best to introduce a little light into the lives of the survivors around her. Her mother was an artist, using mostly charcoal from the remains of the fire in the main room since paint was so rare. She learned the basics from her mother and so was often distracted from asking the elder members of the village what had happened to the world. Now, with her mother gone and art no longer enthralling her as it once did, she wants to know what made the world the way it did, and who's to blame for destroying the wonderful landscapes that so captivated her mother, and filled her art.
"My mum always said that light was the most beautiful thing in the world. She would sit by the window and paint what she saw. Sometimes, it was the view outside, the light caught as it was fading, or just starting to peek over the edge of the huts in front. Sometimes it was beautiful landscapes with forests or mountains. Sometimes she'd paint a city which I'd never seen before and I'd catch her crying over it. She never told me why, but maybe it's what used to be here, in the Past. She won't ever say, and I can't remember that far back."
"My mum always said that light was the most beautiful thing in the world. She was right."
