- grew up poor, parents were not the best to her, left home very young and lived on the streets.

- friendly/high key flirty with a maid around her age (15) who works at a medium wealthy person's place. The girl gives her good food and hayat brings her pretty but useless things she picks up pick-pocketing or on the street. This girl tells hayat one day she thinks someone is looking for her.

- picking some pockets at a bar and drinking one day, overhears a man telling another he's looking for an heir to quite a fortune, a young girl supposedly destitute.

- hayat approaches the man outside and he concludes that she is who he is seeking, takes out a tiny portrait of her as a child and it looks strikingly similar. He tells her she had a wealthy friend of the family who died suddenly with no heirs and left his fortune to her.

- she gets exceedingly lucky in having her wealthy uncle be in acquaintance with the only honest man in 19th century england

- she suddenly goes from very poor to very rich.

- does whatever she wants, shocking her contemporaries. they call her lady byron. she gets to meet lord byron. they fuck. she loves it.

- changes her name, choosing rando middle names she likes. Takes elocution lessons, learns to speak more like a proper English lady so her now peers will accept her more.

- always was an artist, and now employs beautiful models to stay with her and spends whole days painting.

- has affairs with men and women, fills her new house with beautiful people and things.

- begins to run out of money so goes to an old acquaintance with ties to pirates and knaves.

- runs with some pirates low key, sells their stolen treasures to the other wealthy people, impressing her peers and the pirates. dat 1812 fencing scheme

- tough after living on the streets as a young girl for many years, although naive in some ways, but rather adept at black market business.

- 3 years go by, has made friends as well as enemies.

- falls in love with one of her models, a young woman called lilla.

- they decide to escape hayat's debt and society's disapproval by taking to her uncle's ship, painting it black, and sailing off with some of the pirates and other such scoundrels she has come to like/trust the most, mostly female.

- the pair sail with the crew when they please.

- manage to avoid the law most of the time because the man whose fortune she inherited was generous to officials and adept at covering up his own would-be scandals - mainly beating prostitutes and skipping bar tabs.

- hayat follows his footsteps and pays off most army ships or any police they encounter. She is also very friendly with some naval officers and throws fuckin ragers at her inherited mansion.

- has quite a lot of blackmail fodder saved up just in case.

- hedonism & greed.
