She saw him picking up a new one at his bar.
As owner of the casino Gambling had the right to be anywhere that she wanted, and right now she wanted to be sitting over there on one of the leather stools, talking to Enticement; but she wouldn't do that. She didn't really know if that would have been proper or not, but that didn't matter to her at all; she had never been much of one for ethics or morals. No, she just knew that if she went over there right now, he would do little more than treat her as "the boss" in public. Rather than the close 'associates' they were. Then in private he would get angry at her for interrupting his procurement procedure. Not worth it.
Instead she stood by the slot machines, appearing to oversee the floor, but really she was checking out the woman Enticement was currently ensnaring. Like the others, she was gorgeous, of course. Leave it to Enticement to pick the pretty ones every time. The Feli he was after had shining dark fur and a mischievous glint in her eyes that Gambling could see all the way from here. Gambling couldn't actually hear what was being said, but she didn't need to to know that there was some major flirting going on between the pair of them, and it made her feel the tiniest bit sick.
"Good riddance to her," she thought to herself. "That woman is disgusting, throwing herself at him like that. She deserves what's coming to her."
Suddenly a rare wave of pity overtook her, and she felt bad for the Feli. "She doesn't really deserve this, no one deserves this, and if Enticement was showing me that kind of attention, I'd be doing more than throwing myself at him, look at him."She was looking at him, and she realized that he was at the end of the bar, facing away from the rest of the restaurant and towards her, tapping the edge of a glass in his hands with two fingers. It was her signal.
Gambling helped the Feli, who appeared to be totally intoxicated, into the bathroom. From there, Enticement took her back to the lab. The thing was, Enticement wasn't just a bartender; he was a brilliant scientist. Gambling herself was also quite brilliant, but she had more of a head for business rather than science. Still, she picked up concepts easily, and when she had met Enticement years ago, she was immediately fascinated by him and his ideas. The problem was, not everyone was quite as willing as they were to overlook things like human rights, "for the good of knowledge and learning". Because of this Enticement had learned to conduct his experiments in secret, and Gambling was the perfect person to help. She gave him a job at her casino, and a room in her basement that served as his lab. She took no part in the experiments themselves, but was kept in the know of what was going on, and she continued to help Enticement in any way that he needed.
It kept him close. She liked that.
If it was at the expense of others, so be it. She knew it was a risk.
But she was a gambler.
