The room is empty, but is filled with the energy of an area prior inhabited. A stack of books sits undisturbed on the end table, and an abandoned black coat lies across an expensive leather couch. The light is still on in the kitchen portion of the room; the refrigerator door is slightly ajar. Papers lie in thick stacks on the counter top, and a pen lies beside a leather bound journal, left unlatched.
The room is thick with the scent of spent, expensive cigarettes, and overpriced liquor... but also with softer, gentler smells. There is a pervading smell of chocolate, and of spices from former meals. There are the tell-tale stains of a child's clumsiness, intermingled with more suspicious orange stains from leaking explosives.
