It has finally dawned on me that coffee is, and always was, my best friend. I've never considered my friendship as for I have always had the time to stop by Get Mugged and receive my morning dosage of vanilla chai latte. It was of right of mine that I took for granted... until a fortnight ago.

It was a cold and rainy Monday morning. I had a presentation at work and needed to be in at 8 AM sharp. I missed my alarm and woke up at 7:49 AM. I wasted a minute contemplating what to do - I had ten minutes to take a shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, and head to Get Mugged for my latte and then, of course, my six minute trek to work. I took a super-quick five minute shower - I tried to go as fast as I could, but I have a lot of fur. (I skipped my paws and behind my ears, but I'd like to think they do not smell that much.) Getting dressed was.. interesting, to say the last. I hastily grabbed two socks which later turned out to belong to two different pairs. Breakfast and my daily morning latte had skipped my mind. I had to run to work or else.

I didn't arrive until 8:03 AM. I was late. My boss was enraged. This presentation had to have started three minutes ago! I was fired!

I cried, and I cried. But I marched my way down to Get Mugged, ordered my evening latte, sat in the comfy brown leather chair overlooking the street and had a giant epiphany: Work is for idiots. The World of Coffee meant everything to me. Coffee will always be there. A job with a mindless Mortiking manager? Who needs that?! Not me!

I nestled myself in the chair and dreamed of flying among my coffee foam-like clouds. Mm.
