Damn that infuriating Gahorrah! She had tailed him from city to city, ruining his plans, ending each with an attempt to kill him. She had come close, yet he had thought he'd chased her off for good..
But there she was, ambushing him again in the middle of the damned night, making enough noise to attract every flesh eating creature within 10 miles of this forsaken forest. Of course that's exactly what happened..

And now he ran as fast as he could through the dense snow, his injured wing dragging and leaving a thin trail of blood. The sounds of dying creatures and magic filled the night behind him, slowly fading. He needed to get out here alive.

And yet... he couldn't leave her. Never mind she had done nothing but try to kill him the past four moons. Dalcan sighed, he had his elitist bastard persona to uphold, and this was not going to help. After a moment of thought Dalcan turned and made his way back to the clearing, Kraz following dutifully behind while clacking his jaw, making an infuriating rattle. Dalcan neared the clearing right when he was beginning to think over his stupid idea. Being very cautious, he peered through a gap in the underbrush and trees to the fight before him. The forest floor was littered with bodies, blood, scorch marks (Her element is fire? That's just lovely.) and feathers. In the center of the mess was a gorgeous Gahorrah eagle. She stood facing off two hungry... things. Dalcan really had no name to put on the creatures. They looked like a mix between a dog, snake and pig. The only thing that really mattered though were those claws and teeth.
She stood with her feet slightly parted, all muscles tensed and ready to spring. The eagle's claws were tipped in vicious sheaths and caked in blood, as were her feathers. What Dalcan found curious though was her color. She was obviously a mage, but her feathers sported a natural red-brown and cream coloring. The use of mage craft bleached one's feathers to white, usually with markings of a magics corresponding colors.

She was a great warrior, he'd give her that. He could see she preferred her talons and physical combat as to weaving anyways, maybe that was the key to her odd coloring.
Before Dalcan could lose himself to his thoughts again, one of the creatures leapt towards the eagle. She reacted quickly and dodged the ugly abomination and slicing it's throat with a flick of her claws. The animal fell to the ground with a thud, the other gryphon turning in time to get a shoulder slashed up to the other creatures claws. She shrieked and finished it off, turning clumsily once again to the remaining monsters.
Dalcan began counting the bodies on the forest floor and lost count after 15. No one could fight off that many, no matter how great a warrior they were, and she was getting tired. Mentally kicking himself once again, (for stalling and even returning to this wretched place) he raised his hands and began to weave.
And before he threw himself into the battle once again, only one curious thought had crossed his mind.

That she would (most likely) be the death of him.

Dalcan is a Wyriot Falcon, one of three gryphon species that exist. He was separated from his family at a young age in the wilderness, only to be found and raised by a Dwarf by the name of Ram, who happened to be the young ruler of the Iron Mantle kingdom. Ram's wife gladly took Dalcan in and raised him as her own. Dalcan has a sister, Diana, and is considered to be blood family by the Iron Mantles, as he has done many things for them and acts as an envoy.

Dalcan acts an elitist that is not the slightest bit interested in your plea. This is just a ploy by the young mage as he is actually a good person. He does this to protect himself and adoptive blood family. His element is water (specifically ice), though he can weave both fire and wind reasonably well.
Just like all mages when they are young, his first spell cast was accidental. Kraz was the resulting elemental and has since become a helpful lifetime partner in crime. Kraz had no earthly shape when summoned, so he possessed a nearby skull (Dalcan was in the Iron Mantle crypt at the time) and retains that shape to this day. He resembles a floating skull complete with a jawbone, glowing blue eyes and a pair of wings made out of ice that serve no purpose that Dalcan knows. Though Dalcan always acts annoyed at the little elemental, he cherishes him dearly and appreciates his company and helpfulness with his magecraft.

Dalcan's mate is Kerwythiana, a mage of questionable origin and fiery temper. She is often described as his polar opposite.
