Samael/???/Aquarius

Samael is in quite a curious situation. He was a warrior in the great War between Heaven and Hell, however his side lost and Samael himself was captured. The angels put him under a spell that subdued his demonic side, giving him more of an angelic appearance. Sam doesn't look as menacing as most angels, he is far from being a "Pure being of Light". His angel masters have bestowed Sam with wings, which are mostly for practical purposes - most angels are used to moving around via flight and restricting Sam from the skies would be even more degrading than simply being trapped in a mortal flesh body. Sam doesn't fly often, he actually finds the wings quite cumbersome.

As punishment for his crimes, Sam is bound to the Archives - a huge library which is secretly managed by Heavenly forces but masqueraded as an old, extensive human library. His job is to help customers via fetching books or offering advice. Sam has gotten a hang of all the items in the library over time but he has other problems - the ex-demon had very few ideas of how humans acted or even looked like prior to his capture. He was a Pure Demon, born in the circles of Hell and raised on hate and violence alone. He didn't much care for humans as he was a demon of destruction and was not involved in seducing humans. In his free time, Sam studies human customs, languages and history. Even though he hates to admit it, Sam now finds humans most fascinating and has come to understand why the Heavens try to protect the mortals.

Even though he has been cleared of most of his demonic energy and "taint", Sam isn't happy being bound to the Archives - the more he learns about humans, the more he wants to explore the mortal world. Unfortunately, he still has several hundred years to serve.
