 | Personality Scarab has always been a rebellious girl. When a cub she was nearly uncontrollable by her father, and as an adolecent she became wild, reckless and shirked off any responsibility. Scarab was punky, wild, and seemingly fun loving and rebellious, the occational bouts of self-hatred were well covered by her outgoing demeanor. When Scarab was turned by her Sire her personality took a new bend and rebelled again, not wishing to be a vampire, craving to be 'normal' once again. It was when Nebet removed Scarab's heart that she truly changed. All spark of emotion and joy have left her unlife as the heart is not only the organ that holds the soul, but the one that holds emotions as well. Now Scarab is a dark thing, a monster lacking all emotion who hungers both for the blood and the hearts of others. Likes: Blood, Hearts Dislikes: The times in between feedings, lacking my heart |
History
Scarab em Duat, was the first child of Wepawet conceived from a short marriage. Scarab's mother abandoned her family while she was still young, which seemed to colour her personality.
She was always rebellious, and a wild child that her father couldn't control. She became worse during her adolecence, constantly getting into trouble with the local law from missdemeanors. She was a punk and a rocker who loved being a 'bad girl', but never truly did anything wicked beyound petty theft and vandalism.
When Wepawet was killed by a cruel slavemaster Scarab delt with problems the way that she typically did... she ran away from them. It was then that the young kumos took up travel and saw many sights and had many adventures in far off lands including taking her teenage love intrest (who joined her when she left their homeland), and a horrid encounter with foreign gods cursing the birth of their litter and the loss of her cubs. Torn apart she took a ship across the sea, returning to her desert home.
During a storm the ship Scarab was travelling on sunk and crashed, she washed up upon shore on the verge of death only to be killed, and oddly rescued by her new 'father'.
The white furred kumos was old, older then Scarab would have ever guessed. He was cold to the touch, and gave her part of his coldness which returned her to a semi-state of life. The stranger was a vampire who had awoken after a long period of sleep and hungered for fresh blood. A twinge of guilt had him return the water-logged female to life as his vampiric child.
Scarab would still be a shadow of who she was, struggling to control her new hunger and 'trouble' with sunlight if it wasn't for the wicked machinations of Nebet em Mewet, a Khemetic Necromancer.
Interested in Scarab's stories about her homeland her vampiric sire urged her to bring him to these lands so he could travel them and witness it's ancient glory. During this time he met and befriended the necromancer Nebet who found the pair of vampires interesting. Craving a vampiric slave of her own Nebet urged the old vampire to create another one for her, which he refused. Frustrated and spiteful Nebet used an ancient necromatic spell to remove Scarab's heart, placing it in a specially prepared canopic jar.
The Egyptians believed that the heart was the source of emotion, and held the soul. With her heart removed Scarab's emotions were ripped from her, along with her soul. While close to the jar she was like herself, her heart close enough to fuel her, worse though was that whoever posessed the jar held her soul and could command and control her through the spell that removed it.
Scarab's vampire father was horrified by what Nebet had done, but oddly (in his own wicked way) understood her motivations. The two of them spent time stealing the jar back and forth from one another. (Both had enough of a fondness for the other and didn't desire to see their destruction, instead it was meerly an act of spite.) Nebet, fed up with these 'games', hid the jar somewhere deep in the desert so that neither of them could posess it. In an act of kindnes Scarab's sire compelled her with his vampiric sight, telling her to search the desert for the jar that contains her heart.
Scarab is now truly a monster. Without a heart she cannot control her undead hunger and has no conscience or sense of morals, since they are contained within her heart. Worse still is an odd effect that the spell had upon her, instead of meerly blood Scarab craves the hearts of others... preferably fresh and still beating.
Somehow, deep within her part of her former self still resides as she slavishly follows her commands to find her heart. But until then it is best to avoid this vampiric kumos who wanders the desert for she may decide to feast upon you next.
