The Crystal Bishop of ♠Spades

My people have been around ever since our world was born. We were bounded to water, and our home was the sea. I heard many stories of that time... A enormous city underwater, filled with peace and prosperity. My people were often linked with good omens for a safe trip over the sea, as many sailor offered gifts for us in order to protect them during tempests and enemies. The ancients told about how the relations with the surface world were close by then. However, things changed when the Great Game started.

As Hearts attacked, the sea got poisoned with a thick and mortal mist. Trying to survive, my people had to adapt their bodies to living on the surface. Running away from extinction, they took shelter inside the caves of a mountain on the further north. As the years passed, we became more and more angry at the selfish humans who destroyed our home. We didn't go out anymore, and after I was born nobody was allowed to leave and see the daylight. It was too dangerous. But our fear was also the doom of our especies. As time passed on the pit of the caves, everyone started to got sick. They really couldn't live well enough outside of the sea.

Things were different with me. I was born in land, and my body started to adapt. Instead of water, I developed a strong connection with the crystals that filled the caves. I learned that I could make anything I want with them. Sculptures, buildings and everything I could imagine. Before I realised, there was nobody left but me. So I secluded myself in a big castle made of crystal, and lived in a fairytale ever since then. The more I practiced, new things could be done... Like giving life to some of the scultures. One of them and my favorite is Senza, who resembles a tigers and acts as my pet.

That was my life until some woman decided to invade my fantasy world. Her name was Nohara, and she was the first living being I saw in a really long time. My immediate reaction was to deffend my home from a intruder with all I got, but she managed to defeat me. That's when she said something about being on a quest for her king - the heir of the fallen Spades. I didn't knew much about the Four Great Kingdoms, except that Hearts was one of them and extinguished my family and friends. Nohara said that Spades declared a formal war to Hearts, in a game that would take the form of a chess match. For everything my people went through, I then decided to accompany her.

The fear of going to the surface for the first time subsided as soon as I saw the rays of light of a sunny day. It made me think that the world was way more beautiful than the ones I could imagine or create. Soon I understood why there was people fighting for it. After concluding her mission and finding two more allies, Nohara and us retorned to the Golden City of Diamonds, where we would finally met the king who rose against Hearts.

But nobody told me he was so hot! Oh, you didn't heard that... I mean, it's not like I have any chance after all, he's with a beautiful and mature queen who... Doesn't seem to like being near him very much, but is way more womanly than I. After all, I'm still on my fifteenth's... Ugh. Even Nohara has a way more feminine body. King Noir looked at me like some kid, and it made me feel really frustrated. Well, maybe if I try hard enough to beat Hearts he will notice me. In some years, yeah...

Until that happens, I can at least watch from afar.
