Rose had a normal childhood. Growing up in a middle class area of a large and bustling ice city. Her father worked as a gem master. A gem master could bend the gems to do things. Her mother worked has a nanny for close by richer families. She lived a quant and lovely life. One day rose wanted to go for a walk. She found nicely set on the road a gem, the gem was every color of the rainbow. She bent over to pick it up, the jewel was so fascinating to her. She ran her fingers all over it. From on top of the mountain a siren went off. The mines, an accident has happened. She took off on foot for the mountain clenching the jewel in her hand. Watching the bodies of men carried down the hill, women screaming and crying. She made it to the top. A fire hole was in the center. Her mother stood being held back by men. She was screaming. Rose could only hear one thing. “goodbye”

It had been ten years since the accident. She was now seventeen. She had lost everything that day. Her mother went insane after the loss of her father and killed her self two years later. Rose was taken in by an older women and put to work. She was placed as a maid in a rich family just outside of town. The family cared nothing for there help and treated them as if they had never learned to speak. In fact speaking was a forbidden act. Rose was the maid to the youngest child in the family. The child was the only one rose could speak with. The child was but seven years old. The same age that rose was when she had lost everything. Other wise rose stuck to herself she never befriended the other workers always eating by herself. Rose had never left her jewel either it had the last few happy moments of her life forever imbedded into its core. What was left of her was inside of it.

After living with the family for almost a year another tragedy took the house. The mother of the house fell il and died. The house was left with no guardian. The oldest child took charge and let half the staff go and who she kept she beat every day before sunrise. No one was to speak, even to who there master was. Rose took her beatings in silent not even crying when the blood just poured from her back. Finally one day rose snapped and she took her jewel and slit the older mistresses neck. The gathered her things with the hard look placed on her face. She was actually free now. Walked down the staircase she saw a figure standing at the bottom, crying alittle. It was her young mistress. She placed her things down and took her and hugged her. The child had a fever that burned rose to even touch her. The child would die, within a week.

The jewel was pulsating, it took the young child as she swayed in rose’s arm. Holding onto her and steadying her she felt the jewel pull the child in. she would feel no more but play forever in rose’s heart. She picked her things up and with her free hand she held tight to her bonnet. A month later she moved to a smaller town near the warmer part of the ice lands. She bought a cottage and opened a crystal shop. She became a crystal witch. With her abilities that had been passed down to her from her father spread across. She soon found herself with guests. Needing healing and fortunes told. Or spells for whatever reason. Even the dead came to her, looking for there paradise within the crystal of death.
