Brigh Matters was born in an average family. she has a younger sister, two parents and pets. nothing of interest. in fact, up until now her whole life had been nothing but seething boredom. she always longed to be abnormal, to find herself in a fantasy land or meet creatures with amazing powers but alas that wasn't happening. so Brigh dug herself in books. they were a happy outlook, but when she was done with them she found herself bored and reminded that life was just too plain.
her folks worried that she was wrapping herself up in a fantasy land, scolded her constantly and she rebelled against their wishes. to them, she thought she was just another person to be trained then passed off onto a man. there she'd produce babies and repeat the process until the end of time. she grew solemn and more negative as the years passed, her parents gave up and displayed affections to the sister instead. Brigh turned back to books for creative outlet, focusing on her studies when she went to school. she was placed in a boarding school with other girls. she was never good around the opposite sex, immediately suspicious of them for something.
at the age of seventeen, her boarding school took a vacation to a snowy little village in some desolate place to study landmarks and whatnot. the reason is in the past. all the other students had gone into the mountains to collect samples for study but Brigh put it off until the last minute. she rejected help and climbed up alone. the village was set below the mountain terrain and she wouldn't get lost. the girl collected her samples and was about to leave when a black bear caught scent of her, chasing Brigh farther up the mountain. the bear knocked her out with a hefty hit and she passed out.
