Since she was old enough to get into clubs and bars, Kinsley has partied every weekend, and most weekdays. Always keeping up with the hottest trends and the hottest men, she could command attention just by entering a room. She was the queen of her social circles, and the envy of the rest. She was a socialite; the brightest of the bright stars.

And then she faded...

Age had crept up on Kinsley, and it had not been gentle. The flower of her prime was past full bloom and on its way to winter. Still beautiful, though no longer timeless, her popularity waned and she was no longer the desire of all men and the envy of their women. She was getting older. At thirty seven no one but the youngest socialite would call her "old", but their stares told her she was not what she once had been. The drugs, cigarettes, and booze had caught up with her. Her eyes weren't as bright as they used to be. Her skin not as taut as it used to be. Her style not as fierce as it used to be.

For Kinsley, things would never be like they used to be.

Fight it all she wanted, she would never be the star again. She had fallen, and there was no climbing back up. You can't steal back your youth, after all.

So she took comfort in the bottom of friendly bottles, expensive restaurants, and sleeping pills, and dreamed of the days she could walk into a room and be all anyone could see.
