About: Kay Faraday is a self proclaimed "Great Thief" called the Yatagarasu, who's goal is only one thing: stealing the truth. Her father, Prosecutor Byrne Faraday, as well as his associates Tyrell Badd and Calisto Yew, were her predecessors as the Yatagarasu. After her father's death, Kay Faraday was determined to find the truth to her father's murderer, and became the second Yatagarasu. During this time, she found a diary of her father's, as well as a device she called Little Thief, which was used to plan heists. When the time finally came, she would find her father's killer and bring them to justice. She is described as an energetic, cheeky girl, and idolized her father very much.

The Yatagarasu was an infamous thief, known for stealing corporate files that exposed their illegal or unethical activities and then sending them to the media. In reality, the Yatagarasu consisted of three people: Byrne Faraday, Tyrell Badd and Calisto Yew. These three were all law enforcement types, and it was because of this that the Yatagarasu did so well.

There are three distinct traits of the Yatagarasu:1. The Yatagarasu always knew the exact location of the target object.
2. The Yatagarasu knew exactly how to disarm the security systems in the way.
3. The Yatagarasu never left a single shred of evidence behind.

As a defense attorney, Calisto Yew attracted the attention of potential target companies desiring legal protection, and so she could get close to the Yatagarasu's targets. As a prosecutor, Byrne Faraday had knowledge of security-disabling methods and used a device called Little Thief to plan the Yatagarasu's heists. Finally, as the detective in charge of the Yatagarasu cases, Tyrell Badd could ensure that no evidence made it to the authorities.

Kay would soon inherit this legacy

Byrne Faraday is Kay's father and best friend from when she was younger. He was one of the top prosecutors of the time, and specialized in cases concerning the Yatagarasu. Being a single father, he had to raise Kay himself, and would often bring her to the courthouse. He was very loving towards his daughter, and even made up a book of promises that she was to keep, some of them being no crying in front of strangers and not to accept gifts from strangers. Kay still carries the book around to this very day. He had a very easy-going nature, often being described as "very hard to anger" by his peers. This helped him bond closely with Kay, and the two were inseparable up until his death in 2011. He is also known for giving Detective Dick Gumshoe his first pay decrease, having been one of the few people to anger the prosecutor.

Little Thief is a small, handheld device that Byrne Faraday and later his successor Kay Faraday used to plan their heists. It has the ability to create holographic "scenes", depending on the information put into it. This way the user could plan out how to bypass guards, knock out security systems, and the like. Little Thief would have another use in recreating crime scenes that helped Kay and Miles Edgeworth on their adventures.

The Jammin' Ninja is one of Kay's favourite TV shows. It was produced by Worldwide Studios. The series starred the titular character, his beloved Princess Misola, and his trademark red guitar. The show is a remake of an old film and tells the story of an inept ninja with an enchanting ability to sing. It is with his voice that he manages to charm the Princess Misola, whom he must later rescue from the Muromachi Five. Tragedy strikes when he loses his voice before the third battle. Kay believes that this show is much better than it's competitor, the Steel Samurai.
