Astryan

Astryan began, continues, and will likely end her life a cocky, brazen pet and adventurer. Intelligent and strong, she left home for the adventuring life early, in search of excitement, challenge, and some treasure along the way. Unfortunately for Astryan, she ran afoul of an evil mage, made one too many taunting remarks and one too few successful dodges, and wound up trapped for several years in a magical amulet. Inside the amulet dimension were strange puddles, waterfalls, drips, and even icicles of strange chemicals, which Astryan began studying and combining, after establishing she was immune to physical harm inside the amulet. What began as a way to combat boredom became her plan for escape, though the mage who owned the amulet always seemed to be able to trigger a disruption that stopped her plans from working.

One day, however, she got lucky - her attack from inside the amulet met no resistance, and she sprang free to find that he had been fighting a small adventuring party. The group finished off the mage, and Astrayan chose to stick with the newfound party, after swiping the wizard's chemical stash to begin putting names to materials and confirming that her experiments worked. The party finds her invaluable as a healing potion brewer, but must be equally wary of her penchant for throwing bottles of explosive chemicals into a fight, and her continued taunting and daring at powerful opponents.
