Nevins was discovered in the adoption center after three long months. It's uncertain why he was abandoned, or why no body seemed to want him, but it's a good guess he was a pet purely for experiment, thrown away like trash once the fun was gone. Obviously used and abused no one else wanted the damaged goods, and thus grabbed more favorable pets instead, such as bright pink Kumos or fluffy golden Kanis.
He was a common, female (likely an unintended side effect of the pet zapper) Darkonite upon being found (and had with him a "Grumps" named Dexxy) but soon changed into who he wanted to be, which was something... most might fear. Now there's nothing wrong with wanting a sex change, he simply wished to be male and made it so, but his personality changes were very concerning. A few months after being adopted he soon became sadistic, to the point of actually killing small insects and animals. He's angry about what the humans did to him without mercy, without his consent, and wishes to take revenge on the world. It has escalated far since then, until Nevins became the blood soaked creature standing before you now.
... Cute name though, gotta give him that.
