maybe just write a "single shot" of meditation / deviotional time?
Include favorite verses?
Route one would be story, but maybe not pastor and instead "snippets" of good acts tied to versus to show what real Christianity?
He was often found sitting outside in the backyard on the large fallen tree, truck wide enough for him to sit criss cross apple sauce, roots lifted up towards the sky making a convenient back to learn against.
Sometimes his eyes were closed softly, sometimes he was ferverently writing in his journal, sometimes he was even crying.
if asked, he would say
"I'm centering myself - meditating - grounding - having quiet time - devotional time"
I'm feeling the sun's warmth as it flows down me, I feel the breeze - gentle and cool - as it caresses my skin, hearing the slight rustle and woosh as it moves the trees, feeling the roughness of the bark against my skin, ... etc
I'm quieting myself, re-firming my connection to my core, putting my feet back on my firm foundation, feeling the world around me and my existance in this moment - it makes me feel alive and connected, like I'm participating in this moment not just an inanimate object around which things are happening,
it enables me to quiet myself, to let the thoughts come and go, flow naturally, capture the thoughts that are important and allow the others to clear out, move along
It allows me to hear God's voice much more clearly, to find the words that come to me that arne't mine and hear the message intended, to get direction and feel united with purpose and intention
she left him then, thoughtul and inspired and headed towards the house where - since she had the time - she thought perhaps she'd sit quietly for a bit and see if there were answers to her questions out there as well.
