They are the messengers, supposedly born with a mission - as a bridge between God Entity and Earthlings. At least, that's what the Church told its believers.
In fact, Godwins are born with unimaginable powers. The truly gifted.
The Church could not afford to let Godwin fall into the hands of other Powers.
Every 50th year, a messenger is born.
Every 50th year, a messenger pass away.
The birth of one signifies the death of another.
The High Priest had Godwin's location scry'd before he was born.
At Godwin's birth, the Church arrived and took him from his parents.
No one was surprised, since girls and boys are often raided to serve the Church.
Like all other children raised by the Church, Godwin is extremely faithful to the Church.Or rather, to the High Priest.
He enjoys the attention given to him. After all, he's the messenger. It's only right that others worship him, yes?
Godwin may be a little arrogant and bossy, but he's still a sweet little kid inside.
