Madeline is Aniki’s former crush who was transmogrified into a housecat after receiving a love letter from him on February 15th. It is a seemingly irreversible (though accidental) curse, and the guilt of it keeps him up at night. Neither of them know how the cursed occurred.

Despite the change in form, Madeline has come to terms with being cursed. Needless to say their potential relationship fell to shambles because of it, and now they just share a house out of convenience. Madeline is notoriously aloof toward Aniki and she has a petty streak whenever there is conflict. Aniki usually just accepts whatever punishment Madeline has cooked up for him. They never did figure out how to to change her back, after all.

Madeline will admit, seeing her housemate eaten away by guilt has softened the sting of old wounds. She might even go as far to say it has ignited a shard of pity for her old friend.

She’s grown supportive of his newfound hobby in baking, and was absolutely delighted when he made her a warm basket of Madeleine cookies on a rainy day as a peace offering to one of their spats. Touched by the gesture, she vowed to be slightly less of a menance than she had been. Still, mischief is just a cat thing that Madeleine has found to be irresistible.

Angry that your life has taken a turn for the worst and you can’t even talk about it? Knock something over. Hack up on the carpet. Scream loudly at odd hours. Leave dead rodents in your housemates’ bed to create an air of animosity. Like in The Godfather. Okay, maybe she quit doing that last one ages ago! ♥
