The sign at the gate reads "Marvin's Marvelous Haunted Tunnel Adventure". You aren't quite sure how "Marvelous" it could be given the somewhat beat-down atmosphere of the carnival, but hey it's worth a shot. You step into the line filled with other bored parents and widely ecstatic children and wait your turn.

A short while later a patched and paint chipped log boat ambles your way in the murky water. You study the threadbare leather with a critical eye before sighing and taking your place.

"Adds to the atmosphere" the attendant winks at you as she pushes the boat out into the current.

While you're not quite sure about that, the boat doesn't care and plunges you into the dark entrance of the intimation plastic cave, gum filled sides and all. Screams and howls can be heard coming from the rock shaped speakers and the dimly lit lanterns that line the walls cast more shadows than light.

Past the third or fourth turn, and wondering what is so marvelous about this ride, you come upon something that baffles you. Usually, in rides such as these, the ghosts are played by simple sheets strung to the ceiling that do little more then sway thanks to a fan. However the ghost before you now is moaning and moving about on it's own, piles of steam coming from it as it moves slowly towards you, shaking an accusatory finger. Once you get a bit closer you realize this isn't a real ghost at all, but merely a machine. A machine the likes of which you've never seen before, but still just that.

Pinpoints of light can be seen coming from the otherwise blank face and underneath the glow you can make out the bronze metal of a robot. Sticking out of the bottom of the sheet is the edge of some sort of tubing which is admitting the steam. And underneath the ambient background noise you can hear the whirring and clinking whenever the thing moves its arms to point.

The ride however doesn't care that you want to get a closer look at this obviously advanced machine, the steady current whisks you away around the next turn and you are plunged once more into darkness. With a huff you plunk down into your seat and continue onwards, debating whether it might be worth it to wade upsteam in the dirty water.

Before you come to your decision though you are greeted by another circle of light illuminating yet another "horror". You sit up instantly though as you recognize the form. No longer a ghost, but now a zombie, the machine from before ambles towards you, somehow managing to limp across the platform on it's steam legs. The sheet is gone and replaced by some rather hastily applied makeup and a tattered shirt. Blood drips from it's mouth, though you are fairly certain you can smell ketchup in the enclosed area.

You smile to yourself as the ride continues onwards. You see the robot twice more on the trip, once in the guise of a werewolf and the other dressed as Frankenstein. Finally the ride comes full circle and you pile out of the log and the attendant waves you over to the exit.

"How did you enjoy the ride?" She asks, holding the gate open for you.

"I must admit, the first half was rather cheesy, but once you had that robot donning costumes and playing the part of monsters, it was amazing! I don't know how you programmed it to move around like that but it was ingenious!" You step through the gate not bothering to wait for a reply as you get back in line for a second trip.

"Not sure what that kid was smoking, but there aren't any robots on this ride." The attendant mumbles to herself as she watches you go, a puzzled look on her face.

Overview:
Alpha is a rather unique individual. He was the first prototype built of his kind at Yun Enterprises, hence his name. He lived there happily for quite some years, though he was always trying to make others laugh. None of the other prototypes of robots were built with a sense of humor though so Alpha's antics fell on deaf ears. Alpha was retrieving Yun's mail one day when he came upon a poster for a traveling circus. Excited, Alpha asked Yun if he could visit, but Yun refused, after all he was still trying to keep the robots a secret at the time. Disheartened but determined, Alpha snuck out that night, a sheet worn as a disguise, and was instantly enchanted by the bearded lady, muscled man, and other carnival wonders. It was during the Marvin's Marvelous Haunted Tunnel Adventure that Alpha made up his mind to stay with the circus. Ever since he's been hiding out in the tunnels and delightning guests with his different disguises. The carnival workers have heard the stories about the mysterious robot in the ride, but none have ever found Alpha when they search.

Design Notes:
- Basically the same design as the standard Steamwork Aeanoid.
- Has flexible tubes on the bottom where the steam comes out, though he uses the steam to move around. The tubes just direct the flow.

- You can draw him as a plain Aeanoid or in any of his numerous costumes. Pretty much any traditional horror monster/myth is fair game. His personal favorite his his ghost costume, which is the sheet he escaped in.
