Dear Diary,
Wow this feels weird. I never thought I'd write in a diary. I guess it's like a journal. Anyway I always thought of diaries as things girls write their secrets in, but after another upset at school my teacher told gave me this book and told me to try writing down the days events and how they made me feel. I don't think I will refer to this as a diary, I think I will call it a journal.Anyway, the incident that started this today was those bullies, Kev and Tyson. I was at my locker and they pushed me away and ran off with my new book. I found it later turn up and all wet in the restroom. I was really looking forward to reading it too. I wish they would leave me alone.

Dear Journal,
Saying, or should I say, writing, 'Dear Journal', sounds weird. But I like it better than 'Dear Diary'.It doesn't sound so girly! I got another copy of my book today, it's called 'Frozen Flowers' and is about a magical garden in the Arctic Frost, where, somehow everything manages to grow even in the icy conditions. The Snow just leaves them alone and the flowers bloom in vibrant colours, not affected by the cold at all. It sounds like a wonderful place. I wish it were real so I could go there.

Dear Journal,
It was another bad day at School. This time Kev and Tyson pushed me into the mud while I was on my way to class. They stomped on my notes that I was keeping for my next story idea, now they are torn and covered in mud - unreadable. I was late to class because of this and the teacher didn't want to listen to why - she gave me detention. (She was also mad that I got mud over the carpet and made me clean it up). I love learning, why do I have to go to school to do it?

Dear Journal,
After school today I quickly ran to the library, I managed to get there before Kev and Tyson saw me leaving school, but they came to the library soon after to use the computers. I hid behind some bookshelves so they couldn't see me. I was looking for a book that sounded interesting to read when I heard a small noise, I looked down and saw a small minion crawling out from under the shelf. She looked at the books on the shelf and poked at one. I got it out and she crawled into my lap and sat there as I read it. I found out she was homeless, not anymore. Reader now lives with me and is my first real friend!

Dear Journal,
Today Kev and Tyson broke my glasses, I don't know how I will read without them! I'll just have to remember the great stories I have read and think of my own stories until I get them fixed.

Dear Journal,
I thought of a great story idea today! I can't wait to write it down when my glasses are fixed.Reader is an awesome minion. She comes with me everywhere, well except for school, and is so well-behaved - and, you wont believe this - she can read! She can actually read! I called her reader because I thought it looked like she was reading, but she is really reading! Today after reading a favourite book of mine, she started acting it out! I couldn't believe it.

Dear Journal,
Yet another bad day at school, I couldn't see the board so couldn't do my work. The teacher said its my own fault for letting my glasses get broken and I'll have to catch up on all the work after school the day my glasses are fixed.

Dear Journal,
I got an awesome new pen set today! They are so colourful. I bought some new notepads too. I'm going to use them to write my very special stories in and they will never go to school. Kev and Tyson aren't getting their hands on these!

Dear Journal,
I got my glasses back today! Yay I can see again. I managed to catch up on my school work. Reader was anxiously waiting for me when I returned home. We read a book together and then I started writing my story. It's about a normal boy who is always bullied, one day he discovers he has super powers and uses them to protect all the other innocent victims of bullying while getting back at the bullies...Sounds simple but it's really quite complicated!

Dear Journal,
I wish I had the courage to stand up to Kev and Tyson. I'm tired of been pushed around. I used to love school and now, its just a trial. Going there every day, it's hard to learn when you are watching your back every second, trying to avoid rubber bands and spit-balls - Acting like you don't notice the face - pulling and note passing. Kev and Tyson start it and others join in, even those I thought were my friends. At least I'll always have Reader as a friend.

Dear Journal,
I did it! I told those bullies what for! To pick on me is one thing, to pick on Reader - you don't go there.I guess I should explain, I was at the library today, Reader was with me. Kev and Tyson approached me and were about to pull the book I was reading away from me when they noticed Reader. They started laughing at her, how she was absorbed in the book. Calling her a mini-nerd for a nerd. She hid her face and they grabbed her and started making fun of her. That was it. I leaped up and screamed at them. I told them they are selfish jerks who will amount to nothing unless they shape up and take a long hard look at themselves. I grabbed Reader back from them and told them I wasn't going to let them upset me anymore. I put on my meanest face and so did Reader. I felt confident and I must have looked like it too because Kev and Tyson were out of there pretty quickly without saying another word.

Dear Journal,
It's been two weeks since my last entry and Kev and Tyson haven't bullied me or Reader since. I no longer feel scared to go to school.

Dear Journal,
I can't believe it! Kev and Tyson apologised to me today. They apologised to Reader too and even gave me a new notebook and pen. They are behaving in class now too and are actually doing their work. I don't know what happened for this sudden change but I'm glad.

Dear Journal,
I found out Kev and Tyson had a run in with a bully themselves. They found out how it felt. They remembered what I said to them at the library and realized it was true. They are quite friendly to me now and have even helped me launch an anti-bullying campaign. Whoever thought I'd be talking nicely to the ones who made the last few years so hard on me. It's a good thing I'm a forgiving sort of guy.
