Growing up was miserable for Duncan. His first owner bought him from a breeder when he was 6 weeks old. The very first night in his new home his owner went out for the night. When he came home to find "Cash Money" had gone to the bathroom on the floor he was furious. Fuming he kicked the puppery a few times before he could squeeze himself under the couch. Every time his owner left this would happer. But after about a year, when he could no longer fit under the couch, his owner attacked him again. His owner got in a few kicks before "Cash Money" turned on him. He was only able to get a good bite in on his owner's hand. That night he was beaten like never before. In the morning he was brought to the local animal shelter where his owner told them he was allergic and couldn't keep him anymore. Skeptical they took in the dog anyway. That very week the owner was cited for animal cruelty after on of the shelter volunteers insisted they look into it. The newly named Duncan was taken to the vet to have an x-ray done. It revealed several broken ribs, some that were old and healed and some new ones from his last beating.

But after he was healed he still needed to pass a behavious test to see if he was suitable for adoption. Sadly he failed the food aggression part so he would have to stay. During his stay at the shelter more and more dogs were brought in. Mostly puppies and small breeds of dogs which are in higher demand than a Pit Bull, especially with his mutilated ears. His previous owner thought cropping them made him look more intimidating. So Duncan was slated to be euthanized due to the little space in the shelter especially for a "worthless cause". Fortunately one of the volunteers would not let him meet this fate. She knew she couldn't take him in because she already had enough animals to take care of at home so she made a call to Villalobos. This rescue is the largest Pitbull rescue in the world. They work everyday to feed, house and rehabilitate up to 200 dogs at any given time. They don't turn any dog away. So the volunteer know Duncan could be saved.

It didn't take long for him to get settled in at Villalobos. He soon warmed up to the workers and became a plump and wiggly pitbull with a huge smile and will to please. This made it especially easy for him to work with their dog trainers. He was able to overcome his food aggression and was a star in the obedience training. Even with all of his effort he was at the rescue for about 2 years. He was happy though. Potential adopter came and went, none of them quite right for him.

Until one day he was taken to an adoption event. It was near the end of the day and Duncan was feeling disappointed. Not one person had seemed interested in him. Then he saw her. A girl in her mid-twenties with medium lenght brown hair and a pitbull by her side. The other dog looked at him curiously and sniffed near him. Duncan was interested in this new dog and walked right up to her. Her owner looked down at the two of them as they started playing together and smiled. He was just what she was looking for.

She had been looking for a few months to find a companion for her 2 year old red and white pitbull Lily. She knew that she wanted to get a pit bull so she had been looking at local rescues. She had just about given up hope when she saw online that Villalobos was having an adoption event. By the time she arrived the volunteers were packing up. Luckily they were nice enough to let her look at the dogs before they left but Lily only wanted to see Duncan. Since that day Duncan has settled into his new home and finally knows perfect happiness with his new best friend Lily.
