The name "L" and "Ryuuzaki" are alias names; L's last name is "Lawliet." He doesn't have the greatest social reputation though. He has Asperger's Syndrome (AS), which is a mild form of Autism. This syndrome creates a social barrier between him and others. He's socially awkward, as well as other awkward habits including diet! His diet ONLY consists of sweets such as pastries. He never sleeps, and that is why he has bags under his eyes. He's a loner; he doesn't have any friends. Though he struggles socially, his intelligence is incredible. He's living proof that even though everyone has some sort of weakness, everyone also has some sort of strength as well. Lawliet has another downside to him that often comes with having AS, he's immature. He thinks of everything as a game, including the most difficult of cases he must solve. He thinks of lives as a part of a game, and he will do whatever it takes to prove to everyone that he is right. He often calls himself "justice" as well. Even though Lawliet does have these problems with social awkwardness and immaturity, others often misunderstand him. He may not express very many emotions, he may even seem heart-less, but Lawliet isn't just a genius, he really does have a heart, and that is why he became a detective in the first place. He may seem cold, but really, if you really get to know him and make an effort to understand him, he has a warm heart.
