Heathcliff the Black Cat

Charlotte lead a relatively simple life. Usually she would work, go home, play with her cat Heathcliff and that was it. It was an unassuming life and she preferred it that way as she was a relatively quiet person who did not value having a lot of excitement in her life. Most of her excitement came from the various patrons that passed by the reference desk in the library of the small rural town in France that she worked at. The patrons varied, a couple elderly asking for computer help, kids excited about getting the book that they had wanted for forever, but it always brought a little smile to her face though when they found whatever it was that they had wanted.

Her home was small, but she liked how cosy it was. She did not really need a big house when the only person living in the house was her and her cat. It was littered with various knick-knacks here and there, cute things, little sayings she found amusing or inspiring. Her biggest collection was the collection of clocks she had on her living room wall. Her favorite were the old antique cuckoo clocks, but she had an interest in collecting all clocks, really. She also had a half-written manuscript in an old typewriter in her room but, while she had entertained notions, once upon a time, of being a writer she had had gotten writer's block recently and so the manuscript sat half-written in her bedroom for now. One day she might finish it, but for now she was content to let it sit until more ideas about how it should end came about.
