Hmph, my butler clearly surpasses his parents.

Our story begins normally enough. On the 13th of June, 1874, Noah Stitchwire was born to Addy and Walker Stitchwire, and into one of the Noble houses of England. The parents were elated to have a son, and for all intents and purposes, the family was happy. Noah grew up with a normal enough childhood, liking nothing more than to play with his parents and pets. However, such pictures of happiness are rarely accurate. The Stitchwire House help a dark secret...

Walker Stitchwire was a part of Queen Victoria's 'Dark Nobles', a group that reported on the activities of England's twisted underworld, and cleaned up the messes that its members made. Though there was camaraderie within the group (Walker Stitchwire and Vincent Phantomhive were close friends), the families made many enemies in the dark crannies of England's underbelly. Sadly, the making of such enemies often leads to tragedy...

And so, tragedy befell many of the Dark Nobles, and the Stitchwires were not spared. Walker and Addy were not be given a quick murder...oh no...they would be gruesomely tortured to death, all the 'pain' they 'caused' inflicted back on them. Young Noah, however, met a different fate. The murderers saw no use in killing a victim with such a weak scream, and wouldn't put up much of a fight, so they sold him off for a few pounds. The buyer of the young boy was someone you normally wouldn't expect...the prestigious Dr. Falmouth, the most innovative doctor at the Royal London Hospital. He was admired and envied for his quick development of new medications and surgical procedures. In fact he churned them out at a near astounding rate. But we all know that such success must come from dark secrets...

Dr. Falmouth was a Jeckel and Hyde character, playing a skilled professional by day, and a ghastly scientist at night. The basement of his home was stuffed to the brim with forgotten and orphaned children, the 'stock' upon which he performed his gut churning experiments. Each night Noah watched more of them die, many not able to cope with the various diseases being forced into their small bodies. The medications often only made the situation worse, or prolonged the already wretched suffering. It wasn't long before Noah no longer reacted to their screams. To react every night for so long would have simply been tiresome. Perhaps Noah was lucky in the fact that he was more or less surviving, but to survive meant to face another day of experiments, and a new round of more virulent diseases. Even with his strong immune system Noah soon found himself tottering on the edge of death. It would have been better to just give up and allow himself to the angels, but no. Noah was a prideful child, and his pride would not allow a noble such as him to die in such a pitiful and degrading way. So Noah let his hatred keep him alive long enough to make the final move...

During the final night of his imprisonment, Noah used the remainder of his strength to put Dr. Falmouth in his place, killing the ghastly physician with one of his own rusty scalpels, plunging the dirty metal deep into his heart. The doctor had no chance of survival. His dying vision was of his most promising subject limping weakly out the door. Noah managed to make it to the Royal London Hospital, catching the attention of a nurse on break before collapsing. For the next two years Noah would be treated for various medical and psychological problems. It was during this time that he was recognized as the missing heir to the Stitchwire Marquessate, and he was quickly inducted into his new role in society. Though many envied him, Noah soon grew bored with the position, already pining for something more exciting when he was released from the hospital. Of course it follows that boredom leads to curiosity, and its well known that curiosity killed the cat...

Despite the duties of a Marquee, Noah often found himself with nothing (or rather nothing interesting) to do. The boredom of existing was almost worse than the experimentation he had suffered. In order to alleviate his boredom, Noah found himself hanging around his old friend, Ciel Phantomhive, tagging along on any mission the Queen puts up to the young boy. However, Noah was a knack for getting himself in trouble, often compounding the problems for Ciel, rather than making them easier to fix. Though these 'adventures' brought lulls in the boredom, they never truly solved it. However, that changed completely on a rainy afternoon...

Noah found the solution to his boredom sitting on a windowsill in Chelsea, playing somber tunes to the rain on the violin. Noah became enchanted by the boy with the different colored eyes, and found himself doing everything possible to get into his life. The boy, Luca Faustus, surprisingly did not put up much of a fight against the intrusion. Rather he seemed to welcome this new oddball child with the spastic personality and dark sense of humor. Noah seemed to be alleviating the boredom in Luca's life as much as Luca relieved the boredom in his. As their relationship continued to grow Noah began to inch closer to a semblance of the happiness he enjoyed in his childhood...but for the family of the Dark Nobles, happiness never truly lasts forever...

The past slowly began creeping back into Noah's mind, hallucinations of his parents telling him to stop playing with death, and Dr. Falmouth telling him to play into its hands. No matter what he did, Noah couldn't escape the visions, and they eventually lead him straight into the path of death yet again. But as he lay on the cold cobblestones with his life draining away for the second time, a new vision appeared to him. A dark angle offered him the promise of revenge and an end to the pain with only a small price attached: his soul. That seems like a hefty price to pay, and most people would have told the vision to leave them to their death, but not Noah. His mind was plagued with thoughts of death and revenge, and he gladly took the angel's offer, the mark of the contract burned into the skin over his heart as he shouted his first order to the angel, the ones who nearly took him to death a second time meeting death themselves in a shower of crimson rain. Noah did not react. The angel had saved him...but he knew this was no angel. He knew what this creature truly was and what he had just done. He had just sold his soul to the devil; he had formed a Faustian Contract with a demon. And he soon found out his contract was not with just any demon...The next day, the one who woke him from his sleep was his dear friend, Luca Faustus.

Personality

Noah Stitchwire is no longer the happy child he once was. Thanks to his days as an experimental subject he suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, causing him to quite a bit of a jerk. He seems to not care much about others, save for those he knew before the tragedy, causing him to come across as cold and arrogant. He's extremely possessive of Luca, much to annoyance of others close to the demon, to the point of his hurting others for simply talking to Luca for 'too long'. However, Noah can still be gentle and kind, and often lavishes his affections to a large degree upon those he truly cares for. For this he can seem annoying. It is best summed up that Noah can no longer accurately articulate his emotions, and that his emotions themselves swing between extremes with little to no middle ground. Somewhere in his mind, Noah truly wishes to be able to return the happiness he so vaguely remembers, but the dark poison of revenge slowly degrades this portion of him a little more everyday.
