The Coeurl is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy II. Its appearance resembles that of a cat, cheetah, or leopard, often with very large whiskers. I still remember back in the day my friend and I were completely lost in Final Fantasy XI. The maps were gigantic and it could take you hours to traverse them. One of our clan mates told us of a short-cut to get back to where we wanted to go, next thing you know we're in some place called "Sauromugue Champaign". The place looked pretty sparse of things that would kill us, so we decided to try our luck. The next thing I remember there was a Coeurl that I apparently didn't notice until it started chasing me down and beating the ever living piss out of me. My friend is laughing hysterically as he leaves me as a sacrifice and tries to escape. Once my character was killed with a prompt Blaster to the face, it turned and chased after my pal. So now you have my dead lifeless body left in a field with no hopes of being resurrected and my friend shrieking as he ran for his life. Justice was served as that very same Coeurl tagged a second one who in turn paralysed him and then treated my friend to a Blaster to the face as well. At that point I think I was laughing so hard I didn't care I had to go back to the other side of the world, it was so funny to see my friend go down in a giant ball of flames like that.
