Growing up as a young girl in a royal family isn't particularly easy. Not being able to do what you want, whenever you want. There is always the duty to be flawless in everything, flawless in talking, flawless in walking, having to look breathtaking at any moment of the day. But as a child I quickly learned there were two big duties in my live waiting for me. Since I'm a woman, and still looked down on in the twenty-first century, my duty won't be ruling. As a young Neela it was made clear to me that I wouldn't be marrying a cute adorable Neela, I would be marrying whoever had the right title. I was steamed ready for the role of wife and parent for my entire life and on my seventeenth birthday I was presented to the man who would play a crucial role in the story.
Oh I remember it like it was yesterday. He was brought in the throne room during the feast, hundreds of guests where there to watch when I first saw my future husband, Janne. He was an anyu, strong, handsome and ... from the north. My entire life I thought I would be marrying one of the southern princes. I was introduced to those at young age, I spend so many years dancing and talking with them, I almost considered it a done deal to wed one of them. But no, in front of me on my feast was a massive muscular ice prince.
A month after our introduction I was standing in the middle of a holy frost temple on the artic frost. The dreams I had as a girl of regal wedding dresses didn't come true, my dad gave me away in something that made me look like a royal hot dog. Several layers of thick wool wrapped around my slender body and on top of that a thin layer of purple velvet. Ice winds gave me chills, icicles formed around my horns during the vows. Back then I thought I was in hell, now 15 years later I have to reconsider that. The royal hot dog dress wasn't a nightmare, the icicles weren't a nightmare, losing my one and only child to the greed of my husband, THAT was a nightmare. I shouldn't be saying 'was', my son is still alive so the nightmare is reality every single day.
The Artic Frost has been split into several pieces for centuries. But my husband's father convinced several tribe with his intellect and ruling skills, to join the biggest group. His fifty years reign ended with having reunited all the tribes on the artic frost but two, it was considered glorious. Centuries of fighting were ended by one Anyu. Janne's father took peace with not controlling everything. He died as a very happy king and thought the reign was safe in the hands of his successor. He would turn in his grave if would know that he never had been so wrong in his life.
After Janne & I rose to the throne we were told by our advisers to travel all across the Artic Frost to greet our people. And so we did, we visited all the tribes, both the ones who joined the capital (but yet did keep their all unique living styles) and the ones who did not chose to join. We were all greeted welcoming and loving. But somehow my husband felt like he was mistreated by the separated people, he felt like he was under appreciated. I remember clearly how he became so violent on one of the feast, he threw over the table we were sitting at, crushing several guests under the heavy wooden danger. He set fire to the tent we while we were still inside and he threatened with war. ...
Today we are 15 years further, my husband is dead and our son is invisible.
I married an anyu that lusted for power, revenge, more power.
