Story
Often referred to as the "roof of the world" or the "crown of Azeroth", Northrend is a frozen wasteland broken off from Kalimdor after the sundering. This land was chosen to house The Dragonblight, the land where dying dragons find peace before they pass on. The frozen land is filled with immensely large skeletal remains of those that use to protect and watch over this world of Azeroth.

Born from the remains of a great wyrm due to the powers of the scourge, the nameless frost wyrm watched over this land she once chose to end her life in peace. It was odd, her brethren heeded the call of the scourge and its master, but she did not hear it's voice. Was she free of it's call? The nameless wyrm carefully and silently watched as this scourge grew from it's main home in the region of Icecrown to stretch and plague the remaining zones of this large continent. The one named the Lich King started to gather and build his army, this worried the nameless wyrm, Northrend had become her home. This Lich King raised the dead, he had a force built of skeletons, zombies, frost wyrms and valkyr. Ugh... Speaking of those cursed valkyrs, they were quite the annoyance for the nameless one. Always running errands for their master, flying around everywhere scouting the land. It was only time before they found her, unbound by duty, deaf to the call of the Lich King.

The day she was regretting had come sooner then expected as the giant frost wyrm was spotted in her mountain caves in the northern reaches of the Howling Fjord. Three valkyr had been watching the local Vrykul population when they heard whispers of an unknown frost wyrm. Scouting the mountain range, the valkyrs closed in and trapped the wyrm inside her lair. Disliking the idea of being cornered the wyrm fought back with everything she had. Fang and claw was enough to repel them but something had to be done before they could flee and get reinforcements. With a ferocious blast of frost and ice spears the great wyrm defeated the three. Claiming their armour for her own she wore it like a badge of honour but also a cover for her skeletal body. Others would have heard the valkyrs final call and would respond with force, the wyrm was forced to flee.

Scouring the wastes of Dragonblight, the wyrm saw a great red dragon. Could it be? Approaching the red dragon who landed atop the large tower in the center of the zone, there was a bunch of dragons who blocked the wyrm's path and came to the towers defence. "This is no place for a wyrm! Return to Icecrown before we have to use force!" Not knowing how to explain her situation, the great wyrm called out to the Lifebinder. Alexstraza approached the edge of topmost platform of the tower and looked down at the wyrm, "This is no place for the Lich King's minions, begone before you force our hand." The Lifebinder's words enraged the frost wyrm, "If I were his minion I wouldn't be seeking you out now would I?! Also, I dare to think that IF I was indeed connected to that monster that I would not be so peaceful..." The nameless one growled. Alexstraza tried to understand the situation and waved the beast up so she was ask a few questions herself.

After questions had been passed between the two, the Lifebinder looked to her consort then back at the nameless wyrm. "Do you not remember who you were or to which flight you belonged." Bowing her head the frost wyrm apologized, "Sorry I do not remember much of anything except that this place was to bring me peace when I was at the end of life... When I awoke there was no call to me, I was alone once again." Alexstraza nodded and smiled as she approached the wyrm and placed a hand on her snout. "You of all creatures should have a name, take on the name of your home. You are the embodiment of this frozen land. The spirit of Northrend! Aid those who come to these shores to rid the land of the Lich King. Be their guide!"

The giant frost wyrm opened her wings and bowed once again to the great Lifebinder. Thanking her for the name and a purpose for existing, Northrend took her leave from the tower with a new determination.
