Everyone has a shadow, a dark side to their bright exterior. Kudrayavka is Akusha's shadow. Where he represents rebirth, hope, new beginnings, and looking to the future; she represents death, despair, dark endings, and dwelling in the past. They are opposites in every way, born to be each other's rival.
They are two separate souls that inhabit a single body. This body is known by a name we all know. It is a single entity that makes the world go round. We struggle with it from the day we're born, until the day we die, and without it no stories would ever be told...at least none that we would really like to hear. This entity is what pushes us to be all we can, and drives us into the depths of despair. This being, this singular force, its name is Conflict.
Kudrayavka is Conflict's darker side. She encourages, and even yearns, for fighting and delights in a struggle. Her desire is not just limited to physical altercations. Someone struggling with addiction, a person forever regretting their past, and any other internal conflict also satisfies her purpose. Yet, to say these things cause her joy would be incorrect. This is her nature, and to incite and encourage these behaviors in others is her ultimate purpose in life. This is what she was created for, born to do, as one half of an entity who's purpose is to preside over conflict.
She is Conflict's face during the night. Her will is imposed over the body she shares with Akusha, and their form changes to match her personality. The dripping blood, the dark colored coat, the bi-colored eyes, all cause an eerie and unsettled feeling in any mortal that catches sight of her. Her voice whispers out and encourage them mortals to indulge in conflict, whether external or internal.
Though she herself is not free from Conflict's influences. While she roams the mortal world at night, Akusha's voice whispers in the back of her mind. He speaks of better things, of hope and a chance to start anew. He calls into doubt her purpose as the dark side of Conflict, and encourage her to consider freeing herself of this fate she was locked into. He points out that these things bring her no joy, and whispers that she deserves a chance to be happy as much as anyone else.
His voice causes her to doubt herself, which in turn only angers her towards him. She is the dark side, she knows her purpose, she was born to it. It is her duty to carry it out, and without her purpose she is nothing. Yet his voice is soothing, tempting...she sometimes wonders if he might be right. If maybe she can just put an end to it all and walk away from this life.
But what would happen to Conflict? What would become of the dual entity if its sides suddenly ceased the purpose they were born to? If both sides swore a truce, they would defeat the very essence of themselves...
Kudrayavka and Akusha would cease to be the entity of Conflict, but would they themselves cease to be as well?
