How ironic, then, that THEY were my first victims.

I was a computer virus, created not only to infiltrate and control a computer unseen, but also to become the programming.

And destroy the computer from the inside out.

At first, I only made the computer lag. Nothing more than new software, they dismissed me as. Oh yes. I was new software, all right.

Then, it was the lost files. You must not have saved it, they dismissed me as. Oh, they saved those files. But, just like you save leftovers, I ate them.

Next were simple error messages. Maybe a simple virus they dismissed me as. It'll take no time for us to fix.Not so much, dear compute technicians. By this point, I was so absorbed into your computer's very coding that I was inextricably linked in, for the rest of eternity. You could fix the symptoms easy enough, yes, but you couldn't fix the disease.

My fourth stage was to lock your computer down. It was here that the computer technicians couldn't fix your lovely computer - they couldn't find me.

That's when I first heard the words Rootkit.

They didn't know how right they were.

It took a week for me to infect one hundred twenty-eight computers. At eight days I had infected two-hundred fifty-six. The day after that? Five-hundred twelve. I was keeping close count.
The people who created me - THEM - were my first victims.
THEY could not stop me once I was on a roll. For THEY had created me to destroy unconditionally; not to be stopped by any normal means of killing or neutralizing viruses. THEY made me invulnerable. The idiots.

it was mopst interesting to watch how my victims reacted. They didn't know what hit them, for the most part. Some unlucky few, though, knew full well what I was - and that I couldn't be stopped. They were the onews who prepared.
