“They need a name.” Korey insists, poking at the android’s synthetic skin until Blaine kicks his ankle to get him to stop. “Ow! Seriously, Blaine, you can’t just keep calling them uh…”

“This one is three-one-eight-four.” Blaine finishes for him, “And it doesn’t need a name. It’s an android, not a human.” Korey shoots him a disappointed glance.

“But look at them!” He says, motioning to the androgynous looking android. “You made them look and sound so human-like, that just doesn’t seem fair at all.” Blaine scowls and his typing becomes a little louder as he glares at his computer screen.

“It’s better than a human, its processing power is much more powerful than that of a human brain.” Korey makes a sad noise and he sighs, fingers pausing over the keys. “If you want to name it so badly, just give it a name, I don’t care.” He whirls his chair to face him and crosses his arms. “But it doesn’t have the same emotional capabilities we have, so don’t expect it to be ecstatic to have a name or whatever.” Korey pouts.

“Fine, but promise that you’ll refer to them as…” He pauses, looking over the android a few times. “Jamie.”

“Jamie.” Blaine deadpans. “Seriously?”

“It’s a good name!” Korey says defensively, “Better than three uh…”

“Three-one-eight-four.” Blaine sighs, “But fine, alright. Now stop bothering me about this and go bother your uh…”

“Boyfriend.” Now it’s Korey’s turn to deadpan.

“Whatever.” Blaine grumbles, before turning back to his computer and typing in a few things. There’s a soft whirring noise and the android blinks it's their eyes open, looking around.

“Good evening Blaine, Korey.” They greet.

“Evening, Jamie.” Korey says, a grin forming on his face. The android blinks, gray eyes looking to Blaine for answers.

“Jamie?”

“Your new designation.” Blaine says, “Though if need be, you will still respond to three-one-eight-four, understood?”

Jamie almost seems to beam, and Blaine rolls his eyes as he turns away. “Understood, Blaine.”

“Whatever.”
