Bright lights flicker across vision,
Darting in and out of moonlight.
Murmurs are carried on the wind,
Floating upwards in the fire light.

Light, dark, earth, wind and fire,
Purest longing, deepest desire.

Water comes in waves of color,
Caressing landscapes delicately.
Gently merging with the earth,
Leaving nothing for mortals to see.

Fey blessed, fey cursed, winged and cloven, Dwellers of the darkest ocean.

Receding back, a loving calm,
Sighs of contentment bring the dawn.
Through parted mists,
The sunlight withdrawn.

Come together, merge as one,
Never to become undone.

The Oracle took notice of a young malticorn one day. She noticed the young animal muttering incantations and moving objects with a flick of her tail. The Oracle approached and inquired about her name and how she learned such things. The malticorn, known as Mystra, answered that she had always been able to perform such feats. The Oracle was impressed by her magical ability, especially in one of such a young age. She offered to teach her everything she knew about magic and Mystra readily accepted. The only condition that Mystra imposed was that she would not use her magic to make either the light or dark more powerful, she was more interested in keeping the balance of the two equal. For if one were to gain more power over the other, the imbalance would cause irreparable chaos.
