A demon of shadow prowls these grounds. No one is safe when the sun retreats and the cold of darkness takes over. Vilkatis is a fearsome creature with piercing red eyes that are deep within their sockets, and a pair of long curled horns that rest on top of his head signifying his high rank among his kind. Vilkatis' flesh is black, with what it seems like blood and smoke flowing out from three pores at both of his sides in small amounts and has a medium length tail that's furred at the tip. He is also armored with sharp teeth and talon like claws. His body has a malnourished look to it, the outline of his entire skeletal frame can be seen beneath the tight and dry skin.

This demon has a strong taste for flesh, human flesh. He has an excellent sense of smell and will sniff out his prey by the scent of fear, death, sorrow, anger, and even lust. Vilkatis isn't afraid to browse around graveyards for food. He'll dig up a grave and feast on spoiled and sour flesh of the dead. But when it comes to hunting the living, he picks them carefully. By tasting the air with his forked tongue, he can taste the human's soul before he makes his final decision. Dark, yet pure souls are his favorite.

Also, not to mention that Vilkatis is a shape shifter and has another form he likes, a human form that he usually takes to stalk his prey, his favorite; female humans. He takes form of a handsome young man with features of pale skin, black short yet shaggy hair, and a lean yet toned body. He even retains his red eye color, even if it's quite unusual for a human being.

In this form, he is like an Incubus in a way. Once he picks his choice of prey, he'll attract her attention with charm. He tells his prey things she wants to hear. Sweet and meaningless things that he could care less about. If that doesn't work, he'll put his prey under a trance leaving them vulnerable. But his charm usually works one hundred percent of the time. After Vilkatis attracts his preys attention, he'll usually either scare to death, toy, tease, or do pleasant things to his female friend, taking pieces of her soul as they go. Once he is done with her, he will then consume her in a ravenous and bloodthirsty way until there is nothing left for him to feed upon.

The only way to avoid this demon is to not venture outside after sundown. Lock your windows and doors and leave an offering in hopes that he will not pick you when he is prowling around your neighborhood for he will try to attract your attention. Making noises of a wounded animal if in his true form, or asking for help in the form humans can understand.

Many have fallen, and little have survived to tell the tale. So don't add yourself to the menu, stay inside and don't fall for his tricks because this creature does go bump in the night.
