evangeline is extremely beautiful, but she is a horrible person. violent, snobbish, cruel, arrogant. also educated, poised, and well put together.

thomas is a slightly older dude and mostly happily married but still has mad success smashing at masquerades you know (his wife is like ok cool, as in return she gets to fuck her sister's husband. they are a v progressive couple lol). thomas is your standard dashingly handsome british dude from the 1900s. he's got a boyish face, and like evangeline, dark hair and light eyes. he gets away with more than he should. they go hunting together.

sister marie is socially successful socialite/rich gal/normal 1900s lady. married for money, lives more than comfortable. eventually has seven living children. the nicest of all of them.

evangeline is highly educated. she speaks five languages - english, french, latin, greek, and german. she is well studied in math, literature, and somewhat in medicine. she can sing and dance beautifully. she is an excellent shot. she is very brave. she styles herself extremely well. but her true character shines through very strongly to those who know her more intimately.

thomas gets along with her, they are very close. he definitely has a darker side to him too, though not exactly in the same way as evie (he is the only one who calls her that). he has that 'asshole who wants to hurt people and blow shit up,' military (WWI) rich kid thing going on as well. he does think she's insane, but she's his sister, and he loves her. her distracted alcoholic british earl father lets her do mostly as she pleases.

her sister does not like her. she berates thomas for encouraging her. her neurotic french mother hates her and avoids her. the feeling is mutual.

thomas and evangeline both inherited the curse of their father and frequently drink together

one day their parents, in a rare moment of communication, decide it is time for thomas and evangeline to wed and to stop destroying the family name and settle down. they throw a massive party at the earl's biggest estate and invite hot rich singles who are ready 2 mingle

they're like hmmmm we could have some fun with this

her parents retire back to their other estate down the road and some other people peel off for the night as well. everyone else gets way too drunk and it turns into a total victorian rager. someone drugs everyone??

in the morning her parents are discovered dead in their beds, as well as another woman in the garden of the party estate with her throat slit

there is a massive scandal, shocking the entire emerald isles

some people say they remember evie arguing with the woman

because of her history and well known nature she is arrested, along with her brother

refuses to flatter or entertain others. back-stabbing and self-serving. in constant need of attention + stimuli, often bragging and always exaggerating her stories.
takes many lovers. pessimistic, spiteful, petty. loud, outgoing, impulsive. megalomaniac. would rather be feared than loved. prefers to speak quite commonly, but this hides her intelligence.
