While the other boys his age are playing with cars and are in the stage where girls are disgusting and toxic, Spenser prefers to pick flowers, collect cute plushies and hang out with the girls - playing their clapping games, singing, skipping and playing house.He is never seen without his bear beanie, scarf and leg warmers - all in shades of his favourite colour - pink.
His room in painted a soft pink and his shelves are lined with his favourite pink plushies.
Some think that Spenser was born into the wrong body, that he should be a girl - but he is happy with being a boy and has no problems with his gender identity - he just happens to prefer different things to the other boys. Spenser sees no reason why he should want to be a girl, just because he likes the girls and their games.
When offered a minion, most boys will go for something mean looking, or some kind of bug - Spenser went for a spinkles. He adores the little creature and always makes sure she is looking and smelling great with glitter and perfume.
When teased about his preferences Spenser simply states that he is allowed to have his own likes and dislikes, and just because he is a boy it doesn't mean that he has to be like the others. He is happy with who he is and doesn't try to hide it.
