It all started with a smile... He was the boy with the quirky grin that could light the room from miles away, with the personality that was goofy, sarcastic, but still sweet enough that you knew he had a heart of gold. This boy was named Benjamin, and he grew up an army brat. He traveled, did his fair share of taking his families car for joyrides, playing pranks on his sister, and making memories that would be cherished by those who love him. He always had that charm that no matter what he did he was able to smile and melt anyone he met.

At the age of 19 he began communicating with a woman from across the US in good 'ol California. They conversed and had a good time getting to know each other until she decided that she wanted no part of the California living she had endured and needed a fresh start. So, she set her eyes on good 'ol Clarksville, Tennessee.. and then their fate intertwined and nothing was the same for either of them. They fell in love in a way that only happens in books. It was like stepping into a cold pond and then diving in, with a gasp that takes your breathe away. They spent everyday today, communicating, living in each others company, holding hands, hugging each other when they came home from work and kissing them goodbye as they left each other. She was his sun and he was her moon.

They married on February 12th, 2012 in the Riverview Inn, with a small gathering of friends and family. That whole day was a blur up until she saw him at the end of the isle smiling at her. Hearts beating faster, nervousness going away, and all that they both wanted was for it to be over and to hear "Mr & Mrs Holyk". They said their words, and finally... They kissed, ever so softly, both smiling and both holding each other. Cheers were heard and cake was cut, and after all was said and done, a walk over a small bridge to the Cumberland River Walk was just what was needed. Peaceful, quiet, holding hand in hand... and oh so romantic.

Those were the good days, and those were what made my life so meaningful. He completed me. He was my best friend and the only man I have ever felt so deeply in love with. Although he's gone, due to a motorcycle accident on September 5th, 2015, just 28 days before his 26th birthday, he's remembered everyday by those who love him. He's still my light, my star, my hope for a better tomorrow, and the reason I get up in the morning. What I do, I do for him, because he wanted the best for me.
