I was sacrificed around 11:45 in the morning. The reason it is said sacrifices, summonings and what-have-you occur at night is for one simple reason: It's spooky.
I'm kidding.
It's because it's dark.
It's pretty difficult to see at night. Thus, if you stumble upon a sacrificial happening, you are less likely to identify those involved... unless they're using too many candles. You only need about three, calm down Jimmy with your room full of candles. That's a fire hazard. Damn.
Where was I?
Right!
If you were to stumble upon a sacrifice during the day, well, you're more likely to conveniently suffer from amnesia. Or death. Whichever is best for those involved.
But I digress. I was sacrificed at high noon.
My sacrificer, however, was a dolt. He got the virgin aspect correct, but mumbled the incantations wrong. Seems he didn't pay very good attention to the enunciation aspect of spell-casting.
So, instead of sacrificing my soul for him to gain power, he sacrificed our souls and his life and wound up giving me the power he sought.
That's how I became a necromancer.
