Biography

The American treasure hunter Nathan “Nate” Drake, who claims to be the descendant of the famous English explorer and pirate Sir Francis Drake, is an action pro, well-trained and witty guy. With a strong go-lucky attitude and a cheerful persona, nothing is impossible for Nate. As well as being streetsmart and good with firearms, he is also booksmart and able to read both Latin and Spanish.

He tends to find himself in dangerous situations and even though he fumbles and makes jokes along the way, he still makes it with his life. Even though he has a protective nature and will do whatever necessary to help the ones he loves, he also seems rather sadistic of those in his way. This is most likely a side effect from getting shot at as much as Nathan has.

Nate is, more often than not, more interested in the money value of an object than the historical one. His aim is to gain as much cash as possible for his efforts. As he is no stranger to violence, he anticipates trouble along the way of his not perfectly legal adventures and is usually armed and ready for action. Perfectly able to hold his own, and protects others, in gunfights and hand-to hand combat he is a worthy adversary even for trained soldiers and mercenaries. He also possesses excellent climbing skills and the ability to adapt and use the environment to his advantage.

By some he might be considered reckless and the fact that he never has “thought that far ahead” does not necessary inspire trust. He always finds something to keep him going, even thought some of the darkest moments during his adventures. Drake says what he thinks aloud and is perhaps a “lovable jerk”, as he is in for the profits rather than for some unselfish principle.

Even so, the world is Nate’s playpen, and he’ll always be facing the horizon, looking for a new adventure.
